On May 14, 2020, the Party Branch of the Faculty of Information and Library Science successfully held its Party Branch Congress for the 2020-2022 term with a spirit of unity and solidarity.

Attending the Congress were Comrade Nguyen Van Kim - Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Comrade Nguyen Quang Lieu - Party Committee member in charge of monitoring the Faculty's Party Branch, representatives from the Party Committee Office, and 13 Party members from the Party Branches of the two units: the Faculty of Information and Library Science and the Center for Training and Application of Information Technology.

The Congress unanimously affirmed that the 2018-2020 term was a successful one for the Party Branch, with many breakthroughs and highlights in the unit's achievements. Specifically, the Faculty developed and completed six training programs from bachelor's to doctoral levels, especially the high-quality Information Management program at the undergraduate level. External relations, cooperation, scientific research, and union activities yielded positive results, laying the foundation for new future development. In addition, the Congress pointed out that the focus for the next term of the Information and Library Science Faculty Party Branch will be on personnel work, specifically focusing on developing high-quality human resources for the unit. Contributing important and heartfelt opinions to the Party Branch, the Party members expressed their confidence in a new term with many breakthroughs in various fields.

On behalf of the School's Party Committee, Comrade Nguyen Van Kim - Secretary of the Party Committee - highly appreciated the unit's success, highlighting the important role of the Party Branch Committee and Party Cell in leading and directing activities. Affirming that this is a cohesive and united team, the Secretary requested the Faculty's Party Cell to leverage its collective strength and focus on the following five areas: Standardizing the staff; Maintaining and ensuring the quality of training programs; Strengthening domestic and international cooperation in training and scientific research; Promoting scientific research, especially international publications; and Keeping abreast of global development trends to integrate into the global flow of science and education.

The Congress elected the Party Committee for the 2020-2022 term, consisting of three members: Comrade Do Van Hung - Secretary, Comrade Tran Thi Thanh Van - Deputy Secretary, and Comrade Tran Duc Hoa - Party Committee Member.

On behalf of the Party Committee for the 2020-2022 term, Comrade Do Van Hung expressed gratitude for the trust and support of the Party Committee and all Party members in the Party Branch, and called on all Party members, staff, and students in the unit to work together to successfully implement the Resolution of the Party Congress in the new term.

With the slogan:Digital transformation - High quality - InternationalizationThe Congress unanimously agreed on the direction for the 2020-2022 term with the following key focuses:

- Allocate all resources to developing the workforce in both quantity and quality, ensuring a sufficient human resource base for sustainable development in the new phase.

- Promote the application of technology in training activities, aiming for all specialized subjects to be implemented using blended learning.

- Develop and refine the learning materials system for the unit's new training programs, focusing on digital learning materials for easy sharing and use.

- Enhance the research capacity of faculty members so they can undertake large-scale research projects both domestically and internationally.

- Promote international publication.

- Promote cooperation between schools and businesses to implement internships and practical training, while also creating job opportunities for students.

- Strengthen international cooperation in high-quality research and training activities.

- Improve the living standards of cadres and Party members through professional activities, diversify training programs, and actively implement research topics and projects.
