The Party cell has strengthened its comprehensive leadership role in building the Faculty of Sociology into a strong and outstanding unit, successfully fulfilling all assigned tasks and targets in accordance with the Resolution of the Party cell Congress of the Faculty of Sociology for the 2017-2019 term.

During implementationPlan No. 114/KH-ĐUOn April 27, 2016, regarding the orientation and solutions for building a research university, the Party Branch led the Faculty in leveraging its scientific resources to carry out numerous scientific research projects, specifically including: 04 state-level projects.Key research program on social sciences and humanities serving socio-economic development KX.01, 2016-2020; Program on fundamental issues.,Urgent issues concerning ethnic minorities in Vietnam after more than 30 years of reform, proposed ethnic policies for 2021-2025 and up to 2030; Science and Technology Program for responding to climate change, managing resources and the environment for the period 2016-2020;The Faculty has completed 2 Nafosted projects, 7 VNU-level projects, 2 institutional-level projects, and 4 other projects. The Faculty has also published 61 articles in domestic journals, 6 ISI/Scorpus articles, 10 international book chapters, 10 papers at international conferences, organized 2 scientific conferences, published 33 papers in domestic conference proceedings, and published 10 reference books and monographs.

By leveraging the professional expertise and foreign language skills of the Faculty's staff, scientific research is gradually becoming internationalized, particularly in organizing scientific conferences and publishing internationally. Through these research activities, the professional and foreign language proficiency of the staff, especially young staff members, has been enhanced. Several faculty members have successfully supervised dissertations, theses, and doctoral dissertations in foreign languages. This has improved the prestige and image of the entire Faculty internationally. This further attracts domestic and international partners to engage in exchanges and cooperation in training, scientific research, and community service provision. Due to the Faculty's unique focus on two disciplines – Sociology and Social Work – the Party Committee has led and encouraged faculty members to conduct all three types of research: basic research on major social issues in Vietnam; applied research proposing solutions to current social problems; Research on implementing interventions to support community development (a joint French-Vietnamese study on building cultural centers and community tourism in Moc Chau, Son La; research on building and implementing 02Code of conduct in the workplace and in public places.for Hanoi city; research, develop and implement the project."The ward meets the standards of a civilized urban area."(for Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi...).

Based on a thorough understanding of the leadership of the University's Party Committee, the Party Branch has led the Faculty to achieve many accomplishments in scientific research and the publication of scientific papers in Vietnamese, English, and French. Thanks to the strengthening of the Faculty's scientific reputation, many staff members have gained the trust of agencies and scientific funds in commissioning or assigning large-scale scientific tasks, for example.Building a national geographical database.practiceSocietyThe widespread prestige in research activities and scientific publications has attracted many important partners both domestically and internationally, including: the Department of Social Welfare, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs; the Institute of Sociology, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; the Institute of Sociology, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; the Faculty of Sociology, Academy of Journalism and Communication; the Faculty of Sociology, Faculty of Social Work of the Trade Union University; the Vietnam Women's Academy; Shokutoku University, Japan; Toulouse II Jean-Jaurès University; Paris Diderot University, France; National Taiwan University; San Jose State University, USA. Based on these important collaborations, many staff members have enhanced their capabilities through participation in international cooperation and surveys for international research projects. As a result, the number of internationally published works by the Faculty's staff has increased annually.

To achieve such significant accomplishments in research and scientific publications, the Party Branch has drawn important lessons from the Party's leadership, namely: building a correct vision and strategic goals; building and promoting unity and sharing; encouraging innovative and creative thinking; adhering to the principle of fairness in cooperative development; and leveraging all resources, especially the internal resources of the Faculty.
