Hanoi Humanities will change from the smallest things to welcome a new year with new thinking, new ways of doing things, new successes, new positions.

Opening the Conference, on behalf of the School Board of Directors, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan presented the decision of VNU approving Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Head of Training Department to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the School Council (SBC).
The Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH) performs its duties, powers and operates in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Higher Education No. 08/2012/QH13 dated June 19, 2012, Law No. 34/2018/QH14 amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Higher Education dated November 19, 2018; Decree No. 186/2013/ND-CP dated November 17, 2023 of the Government on National Universities; Decision No. 26/2014/QD-TTg dated March 26, 2014 of the Prime Minister on promulgating the Regulation on Organization and Operation of the National University and its member higher education institutions and current provisions of law. On December 29, 2023, the President of VNU issued Decision No. 5270/QD-VNU dated December 29, 2023 on recognizing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Board of Directors for the 2023-2028 term with 15 members, including representatives of the Party Committee, Trade Union, Youth Union, leaders of member units; lecturers, representatives of civil servants, employees; representatives of alumni of the University.
At the first meeting of the University Council on January 16, 2024, 100% of members voted to elect Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Nam - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Head of Training Department, to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Congratulating Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Nam, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his hope that the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors as well as all members of the Board of Directors must promote their intelligence and sense of responsibility to contribute more to the common success of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Rector also expressed his trust and desire for harmonious cohesion in performing the common tasks of the 03 institutions of the University (Board of Directors, Party Committee, Board of Management).
Speaking at the Conference, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Nam expressed his most sincere thanks for the attention and facilitation of VNU, the University Board of Directors, and the trust of the staff and lecturers.This is both an honor and a great responsibility for me personally. With my capacity, enthusiasm and desire to contribute to the School, I will try my best to promote my strengths to be able to complete the task well." - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors shared.
After presenting the action plan to be implemented in February and the first quarter of 2024, MSc. Nguyen Van Thuy especially reminded the heads of units to thoroughly inform all staff about the contents of security, safety, and fire prevention during the Lunar New Year holiday: turn off all unused electrical equipment, check vulnerable points, and seal off working rooms to ensure equipment is carefully preserved. The Head of the Administrative - General Department also noted: in order to organize the Incense Offering activity at the Temple of Literature on Saturday, the 8th day of the Lunar New Year, the units need to register the number of participating lecturers and staff and send it to the Administrative - General Department.
Also at the Conference, Vice Rectors and leaders of units shared good news about the results achieved in the first month of 2024, emphasizing some key contents to be implemented in February and the first quarter of 2024 regarding training, scientific research, development cooperation and university administration and governance.   Concluding the Conference, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized: 2024 will be a year of fundamental changes to prepare for 2025 with many major events and activities of the School. The School will allocate and issue task targets (KPIs) to each unit to ensure the completion of targets assigned by VNU and the School's own targets in the direction of promoting the strengths and unique features of the units.
In 2024, in addition to the identified key tasks, we will continue to focus on training, scientific research, attracting international scholars and students, and sending more of the School's students for internships and practical training abroad.
It is recommended that heads of units thoroughly disseminate and inform their staff and employees about the policy of innovation, improvement, and encouragement of initiative, creativity and sense of personal responsibility in performing tasks on the basis of ensuring principles and regulations; actively participate in admission consulting activities, promote training programs, scientific and training activities of the School. Each employee, staff member and lecturer who innovates and changes themselves from thinking to action will create a very different Humanity, traditional but constantly changing in a professional, modern and friendly direction.
The Principal also specifically reminded heads of units to ensure all conditions to welcome the Year of the Dragon according to the direction, ensuring peace and health; Organize the incense offering ceremony at the Temple of Literature on January 8, the Year of the Dragon solemnly, politely and safely; Ensure labor discipline after the Tet holiday.
On the occasion of the New Year, on behalf of the Board of Directors, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan would like to send New Year greetings to all key officials, staff, lecturers, students and their families for a new year filled with good health, success and happiness; together we will work together to build the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to grow stronger and stronger.
