As a tradition, every year at the beginning of the new year, the Board of Directors, along with all staff and lecturers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, organize a ceremony to offer incense at the National Special Monument of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam in Hanoi.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and all staff and students of the University, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan read a congratulatory letter expressing respect, gratitude, and pride that Hanoi University of Humanities is a descendant and continues the tradition of the former Imperial Academy. Building upon this rich tradition, the leadership, staff, and students of the University have continuously strived and made efforts to achieve brilliant results in 2023 and recent years, maintaining its leading position in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities nationwide.

Before the sacred spirits of the revered sages, the faculty and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities express their determination to "work together in mind, spirit, and heart" to build and develop the University with the following key tasks: interdisciplinary training; science oriented towards achieving great accomplishments; student affairs must be comprehensive; international training must be accessible to attract foreign students to study at the University and send the University's students abroad for study and exchange.
Following the congratulatory speech, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan, along with the vice principals and all staff, lecturers, and students of the school, offered incense to express their reverence to Teacher Chu Van An and other sages, and expressed their wishes for a healthy and successful new year in the Year of the Dragon.

On the occasion of offering incense at the Temple of Literature, the Board of Directors also had a meeting and discussion with Mr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Cultural and Scientific Activities Center of the Temple of Literature.

Sharing about the significant transformations in organizing activities at the Temple of Literature, Mr. Le Xuan Kieu emphasized: “In recent years, especially after experiencing the Covid-19 pandemic with many challenges, we deeply understand the importance of change to help visitors easily access and learn about the cultural and historical values ​​of the Temple of Literature cultural space through more innovative forms, applying technology, digitalization… As a result, while still the same heritage site, many attractive activities have been organized: typical examples include the sacred night tour of the Temple of Literature or heritage exhibitions,… The Temple of Literature, a special national monument, has become an attractive destination and attracts the attention, visits, and learning of a large number of domestic and international tourists.”

The Director of the Van Mieu Cultural and Scientific Activities Center also emphasized that the Center's professional activities always receive the enthusiastic and effective participation of literary and Sino-Vietnamese experts, lecturers, and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, from collecting and creating to displaying cultural products. This close cooperation not only helps diversify and improve the professional quality of activities at the Van Mieu National University historical site but also contributes to preserving, spreading, and promoting the precious traditional cultural values ​​of the nation to the younger generation and international friends.

Rector Hoang Anh Tuan congratulated and highly appreciated the creativity, strong changes, and keen adaptability to the new situation of the leadership of the Temple of Literature Center. The approach of both cherishing, preserving, and conserving the traditional values ​​of the nation while constantly changing and applying the achievements of science and technology in the digital age to suit the trends and tastes of young people and international tourists is an extremely correct direction. Professor Hoang Anh Tuan also proposed and hoped that in the future, the two units would have more cooperative activities in training (increasing opportunities for practical internships and experiences for students in History, Tourism, Cultural Management, Religious Studies, Political Science, etc.), research (collecting and preserving heritage, organizing scientific conferences), and employment for students after graduation, etc.

Offering incense at the Temple of Literature – National University is a cherished tradition of the school, preserved through many generations. It expresses gratitude to the sages and virtuous ancestors who contributed to the founding of universities, the construction of the Temple of Literature – National University, and the establishment and preservation of the tradition of respecting teachers; it also shows reverence for Chu Văn An, revered by the people as "The Teacher of All Generations"; and it is also a way to pass on the spirit of humanism and respect for the past to the younger generation.
