The forum was jointly organized by the Korea Foundation (KF) and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The forum received attention and participation from representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the leadership of the Korea Foundation. Nearly 80 scientists and lecturers from Nanyang University (Singapore), the National University of Laos, Cyber University of Korea, Kyung Hee University (Korea), many universities offering Korean Studies programs, and businesses in Vietnam also participated.
In his opening remarks at the workshop, Mr. Kim Ki-hwan, President of the Korea Foundation for International Exchange, emphasized that while Korean studies previously focused primarily on limited areas such as social sciences and the Korean language, it has recently expanded its scope to include STEM fields, media, and science and technology due to increased interdisciplinary research.
Mr. Kim Ki-hwan expressed his hope that this forum would serve as a bridge, creating a closer network of cooperation between educational institutions, businesses, and government agencies of Vietnam and South Korea in the fields of training and scientific research.

Speaking at the forum, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, stated that after more than 30 years of formation and development, Korean Studies in Vietnam has achieved remarkable accomplishments. These include training dozens of generations of students, contributing hundreds of research works on Korea, and providing a crucial source of human resources, contributing to promoting exchange, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and Korea. At Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and specifically at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Korean Studies holds a leading professional position within the national Korean Studies community.

Mr. Pham Quang Hung, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Information, Ministry of Education and Training, assessed that cooperation in Korean studies training and research has become a bridge for developing a comprehensive strategic cooperative relationship between the two countries.
With the participation of numerous leading scientists from South Korea, universities, research institutes, and businesses in Vietnam, the forum is expected to generate many new initiatives in developing cooperation in Korean studies training and research.

The forum was divided into two sessions: Session 1 focused on "Expanding Korean Studies in Vietnam and Orienting a New Vision"; and Session 2 discussed "Strengthening Partnerships between Businesses, Government, and Schools in Training." During the session, the forum heard numerous presentations, shared experiences, and innovative proposals from leading scientists and experts in Korean studies and science and technology from Vietnam, Korea, and other countries in the region.
At the conference, scientists and administrators exchanged ideas and proposed solutions to help modern Korean studies adapt to new academic trends and global realities, while exploring ways to enhance the synergy for the development of Korean studies in Vietnam, thereby expanding the research direction of Korean studies.
According to scientists, Vietnam is a rapidly growing country in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and is making progress in innovation and technological development in many different fields. Cultivating human resources is extremely important, especially in the digital age and with rapidly changing technology. In this context, expanding the scope of research and training in Korean studies in Vietnam is an essential requirement. To achieve this goal, the cooperation of all stakeholders is needed, from scientists and experts to training institutions, businesses, and government agencies.
