The forum is co-organized by the Korea Foundation (KF) and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The forum received the attention and participation of representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, Hanoi National University, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the leadership of the Korea Foundation for International Exchange. The forum attracted the participation of nearly 80 scientists and lecturers from Nanyang University (Singapore), National University of Laos, Korea Cyber University of Foreign Languages, International University (Kyung Hee University, Korea), many universities with Korean studies training, and businesses in Vietnam...
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Kim Ki-hwan - Chairman of the Korea Foundation for International Exchange emphasized that while in the past, Korean studies focused mainly on limited fields such as social sciences and Korean language, it has recently expanded its scope to STEM, communications and science and technology due to the increase in interdisciplinary research.
Mr. Kim Ki-hwan expressed his hope that this forum will be a bridge, creating a closer cooperation network between training institutions, businesses and government agencies of Vietnam and Korea in the fields of training and scientific research.

Speaking at the forum, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi said that after more than 30 years of establishment and development, the Korean Studies major in Vietnam has achieved proud achievements. That is the training of dozens of generations of students, contributing hundreds of research works on Korea, and providing important human resources, contributing to promoting exchange, cooperation and enhancing mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and Korea. At Vietnam National University, Hanoi and specifically at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Korean Studies is a major with an elite professional position in the Korean Studies community nationwide.

Mr. Pham Quang Hung - Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Information, Ministry of Education and Training assessed that cooperation in training and research on Korean studies has become a bridge to develop the comprehensive strategic cooperative relationship between the two countries.
With the participation of many leading scientists in Korea, universities, research institutes, and enterprises in Vietnam, the forum is expected to bring many new initiatives in developing cooperation activities in training and research in Korean studies.

The forum was divided into two sessions, including session 1 with the theme “Expanding Korean Studies in Vietnam and orienting a new vision”; session 2 discussed “Strengthening the partnership between Enterprises - Government - Schools in training”. Here, the forum listened to many presentations, shared experiences and creative proposals from scientists, leading experts in the field of Korean Studies as well as science and technology from Vietnam, Korea and countries in the region.
At the conference, scientists and managers discussed and proposed solutions for modern Korean Studies to adapt to new academic trends and global realities, and explored options to enhance the overall strength for the development of Korean Studies in Vietnam, thereby expanding the direction of Korean Studies research.
According to scientists, Vietnam is a rapidly growing country in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and is making progress in innovation and technological development in many different fields. Human resource development is extremely important, especially in the digital era and rapidly changing technology. In that context, expanding the scope of research and training in Korean studies in Vietnam is an inevitable requirement. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to have the cooperation of all stakeholders, from scientists, experts, training institutions, businesses to government agencies.
