Seminar on religious culture in the context of globalization

On October 29, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a conference on religious culture in the context of globalization. The purpose of the conference was to create opportunities for academic exchange between Vietnamese and international researchers on the issue of religion in general and religious culture in particular.

On October 29, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a conference on religious culture in the context of globalization. The purpose of the conference was to create opportunities for academic exchange between Vietnamese and international researchers on the issue of religion in general and religious culture in particular.

The workshop was attended by several international delegates from South Korea and Taiwan, along with many scientists and researchers from domestic agencies and research institutes such as Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, and the Government's Religious Affairs Committee...

Over 30 reports were presented in 4 subcommittees: Religious Studies and the Times; Religion and Globalization; Religion and Culture; and the Vietnamese State and Religious Culture.

The reports presented at the conference discussed: the relationship between religion and culture; the impact of globalization on religion and culture; the role of religion in modern society in Vietnam and some other countries around the world; the role of religion in protecting traditional national cultural and moral values...

This was the first workshop proposed by the university's Center for Contemporary Religious Studies, with funding from the Missio Institute (Federal Republic of Germany). All participants unanimously agreed that the workshop was a great success.
