Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa receives and works with Korean partners.

On January 4th and 5th, 2018, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University) held meetings and working sessions with several Korean partners, opening up opportunities for multi-disciplinary cooperation for the University in the future.

On January 4, 2018, Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa received Dr. Jeong Jin Ho (Head of International Relations, Doowon University, South Korea). During the meeting, representatives from both universities exchanged the signed cooperation agreement on training.

Doowon University is a leading university in science and technology in South Korea. Several of its programs, including tourism, journalism and media, and public health, are highly reputable, creating favorable conditions for cooperation with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The university offers flexible training programs, allowing students to choose between two-year, three-year, or longer programs, and providing opportunities for further studies. Doowon University's primary goal is to train human resources for the management and production activities of businesses. Currently, approximately 15 Vietnamese students are studying there. The university is actively seeking opportunities for cooperation with reputable universities for student exchange programs.

Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa, on behalf of the University, expressed her welcome to the cooperative relationship between the two universities. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has a long tradition and prestige in research and training in Korean studies, as well as cooperation with Korean partners. The cooperative activities are diverse, frequent, and highly effective.

Subsequently, on January 5, 2018, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa received a delegation of leaders from several Korean media organizations and held discussions on developing cooperation in the field of television professional training. Also present were Ms. Luong Ngoc Vinh (Deputy Head of the Cooperation and Development Department) and Dr. Bui Chi Trung (Deputy Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication).

The Korean partners included leaders from Sky TV (part of KT Group), Showtime Media Group, and CNP Trust. These are experienced television production and event organizing agencies in Korea. Sky TV currently has approximately 10 entertainment channels covering movies, sports, travel, children's programs, etc. CNP Trust will invest financially in collaborative projects and programs. The purpose of this visit is to establish a television training center in Vietnam. The partners will build a combined workforce of Vietnamese and Korean professionals to produce television programs, provide professional training in television, and promote cultural exchange. Besides meeting with television stations, they also approached major universities in Vietnam to learn about and seek advice, support, and cooperation in training activities.

Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa worked with representatives from Sky TV, Showtime Media Group, and CNP Trust.

Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa provided detailed information regarding the objectives shared by the partners. The Faculty of Journalism and Communication of the University is one of the two largest journalism and communication training and research institutions in the country, offering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. It is the only faculty-level unit in the country that trains students in both journalism and public relations. The Faculty currently offers research-oriented master's programs, applied master's programs, and international collaborations, along with numerous collaborative activities with media organizations, journalists, and leading experts in the field. The facilities and equipment of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training are modern and comprehensive, aiming to meet the requirements for improving the quality of training and practical work.

This initial meeting will lay the groundwork for further meetings between the relevant parties, with specific agendas to be discussed in the near future.
