The meeting revolved around the plan to organize an international conference on Confucianism at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The conference is scheduled to be held in mid-November 2018 with the participation of 50 delegates from Vietnam, Korea, the United States, Japan, China and some European countries. The conference focuses on comparing and contrasting Confucianism between Vietnam and Korea.
On behalf of the International T'oegyehak Institute, Prof. Lee Kwang Ho expressed his sincere thanks to the University for accepting the invitation to co-organize a major international conference. The International T'oegyehak Institute was established in 1970 and has organized many conferences in countries such as the United States, China, European countries, etc. He said that this conference will be an opportunity for the other side to share research on the thoughts of Toegye Yi Hwang, one of the two most famous Confucian scholars of the Joseon Dynasty, Korea. He also hoped that the two sides would carry out many cooperative activities on Confucian studies in the future, in order to enhance common understanding and find new values of Confucianism.
On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa said that this is an opportunity for researchers and lecturers of the University to present their research results on Confucianism. With the cradle of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, the University has a long tradition in imparting and promoting knowledge about Confucianism, especially in units such as the Faculty of Literature, Faculty of Oriental Studies, and Faculty of Philosophy. The Vice President affirmed that with experience in organizing many large international conferences, the University can fully meet the requirements from the International T'oegyehak Institute.

After the meeting, representatives of both sides will continue to discuss specific contents of the workshop. The Department of Cooperation and Development is the main contact point of the School for this cooperation activity.
