On January 16, 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), along with representatives from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Faculty of Literature, the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, the Research Management Department, and the Cooperation and Development Department, welcomed and held a working meeting with a delegation from the T'oegyehak International Institute (Korea) and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, led by Prof. Lee Kwang Ho (President of the T'oegyehak International Institute).

The meeting revolved around the plan to organize an international conference on Confucianism at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The conference is scheduled to be held in mid-November 2018 with the participation of 50 delegates from Vietnam, South Korea, the United States, Japan, China, and several European countries. The conference will focus on a comparative analysis of Confucian thought between Vietnam and South Korea.

On behalf of the T'oegyehak International Institute, Professor Lee Kwang Ho expressed his sincere gratitude to the University for accepting the invitation to co-organize a major international conference. The T'oegyehak International Institute, established in 1970, has organized numerous conferences in countries such as the United States, China, and European nations. He stated that this conference would be an opportunity for the university to share its research on the thought of Toegye Yi Hwang, one of the two most renowned Confucian scholars of the Joseon era in Korea. He also hoped that both sides would undertake more collaborative activities in Confucian studies in the future, aiming to enhance mutual understanding and discover new values of Confucianism.

On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa stated that this is an opportunity for the university's researchers and lecturers to present their research results on Confucianism. With the Temple of Literature - National University as its cradle, the university has a long tradition of disseminating and promoting knowledge about Confucianism, especially in units such as the Faculty of Literature, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, and the Faculty of Philosophy. The Vice Rector affirmed that, with experience in organizing many large international conferences, the university is fully capable of meeting the requirements of the T'oegyehak International Institute.
