The thesis “Tibetan Budhism – History and some current issues” at first has provided with the information about the history and the development of the Tibetan Budhism; the similarities and differences with the Mahayana of the China. Additionally, it also clarifies the role of the Tibetan Budhism in the religous, political and cultural life of the Tibet as well as its increasing importance on many other countries in the world including the ones in Europe and North America. In term of politics, Tibetan Budhism is a thorny issue to the People’s Repulic of China from the past till now (at least from 1949). So far, it is still considered the “barrel of gunpowder” of China, so that the research has brought out the experiences in religous policy.

The researched topic is firstly significant to the social and religous awareness to Vietnam. In recent years, in the realm of Vietnam’s Budhism, the elements of Tibetan Budhism has been enhanced. Therefore, the practical lessons of the Tibetan Budhism partly helps Vietnam to obtain neccessary behaviors to such the religion. The study about the attitude of China to Tibetan Budhism has provided with the successful as well as unsuccessful lessons drawn by the Chinese themselves. Also, the thesis is the reference on religous policies of China and then the application can be possible to Vietnam.
