10. Summary of the thesis results:
Research findings on the issue of innovation in higher education published in online newspapers.A survey conducted on three online newspapers – VnExpress, Tuoi Tre, and Education and Times – revealed that articles on higher education reform were published in large quantities across all three, with little difference in the number of articles on this topic. The content reflected in these online newspapers regarding higher education reform mainly focused on issues such as the Party and State's guiding principles on higher education reform, the Education Law, the Higher Education Law, information and communication on admissions, management reform, university autonomy, improving training quality, and international cooperation.
The types of journalistic and media coverage regarding the reform of higher education are very diverse. Among them, feature articles are the most common; followed by news reports, investigative reports, interviews, etc. In addition, the sources of information from the press are very diverse, coming from journalists and reporters gathering and citing sources both domestically and internationally, as well as information provided by readers.
Online newspapers have created a forum for interaction with readers regarding opinions on new policies and guidelines, thereby attracting widespread public attention. Research results show that the frequency of information access on online newspapers is very high across all three types of newspapers.
However, online newspapers, when reporting on higher education reform, still have certain limitations. Information is not strictly vetted before publication. Many articles are superficial, their content is incomplete, and there are many shortcomings in presentation, including numerous errors in expression and spelling. The number of articles related to higher education reform policies is small, and there is a lack of diversity in exploring this topic. The surveyed online newspapers do not have a dedicated section on higher education reform, making it difficult for readers to stay updated on this issue. Regarding the content and format of online newspapers on higher education reform, the communication about higher education reform is not lively enough and fails to attract readers. The interfaces of education sections and pages in newspapers are monotonous. Some articles express and explain information about higher education reform unclearly, causing confusion and difficulty for readers to understand.
