10. Summary of thesis results:

The thesis studies the changes in livelihoods in a Hmong village in Vientiane City, the capital of Lao PDR. Based on the application of the UNDP's theory of livelihood resources, the thesis focuses on the main livelihood resources of the community, including human capital; natural capital; financial capital; physical capital and social capital. Information on the livelihood activities of the Hmong in Nasala village, Xaythany district, Vientiane capital was collected using the ethnographic fieldwork method. The study shows that while traditional livelihood sources still play an important role for local people, changes in living space, market economy, and relationships within and outside the ethnic group have significantly contributed to promoting livelihood activities.

The thesis contributes to exploring the role of social capital and physical capital in human livelihood activities. It has provided a reliable source of documents as a basis for practical activities to develop the community. The research results of the thesis can be used as a reference to build appropriate measures, towards sustainable development of livelihoods, ensuring stable economic life and life for the Hmong people in Nasala village, Xaythany district, Vientiane capital.
