Thirdly, to provide an overview of the stages of formation and development of the Law on Marriage and Family in Vietnam from 1959 to the present.
Fourth, to identify the values of Buddhist teachings in the implementation of the Marriage and Family Law in Vietnam today.
11. Practical applications:
As one of the elements that have shaped the national culture for thousands of years, Buddhism today still preserves positive values that can contribute to building morality and lifestyle for the Vietnamese people. The benevolent nature of Buddhism is one of the origins of humanism; the Buddhist ideals of equality and peace are in line with the trend of harmony and cooperation among nations worldwide. The impact of Buddhism on the moral values of the Vietnamese people through traditional customs is extremely evident, exemplified by the implementation of the Vietnamese Marriage and Family Law.
This thesis contributes to clarifying the relationship between law and religion, specifically Buddhism. Furthermore, the research will offer a new perspective, exploring how the humanistic teachings of Buddhism on marriage and family directly influence the adherence of citizens (Buddhists) to the law in general and the Vietnamese Marriage and Family Law in particular.
