10. Summary of the thesis results:
The thesis "Japanese Language Education at the Junior High School Level - An Approach from the Perspective of Learner Behavior and Psychology" focuses on researching the learning behaviors and psychology related to Japanese language studies among junior high school students.
This study not only surveys the behavioral and psychological aspects of students during Japanese language classes and extracurricular activities, but also expands its investigation to include factors that may influence student behavior and psychology. The aim is to identify factors that can be addressed and modified, and to propose solutions to improve the quality of Japanese language teaching and learning in junior high schools.
The main results of the thesis are presented in three chapters as follows:
Chapter 1 presents the formation and development of Japanese language education in Vietnam. Through a historical review, this chapter raises the issue that Japanese has now become part of the general education system, but this development also brings challenges regarding teaching methods and learner characteristics that require further in-depth study.
Chapter 2 focuses on describing and analyzing the Japanese language learning behavior of students in several junior high schools in Hanoi. Through this, the chapter raises the issue of improving learning effectiveness, emphasizing the need to build a conducive classroom environment and effective teaching methods, as well as considering factors influencing students' behavior towards the Japanese language.
Chapter 3 delves into the psychological characteristics of students learning Japanese. This chapter raises the issue that identifying and adjusting these psychological factors is necessary to create a friendly learning environment, helping students maintain interest and improve their Japanese learning effectiveness.
11. Practical applications:
The research findings of this thesis can be applied to practical aspects of teaching and learning Japanese at the lower secondary level in Vietnam.
Analyses of students' learning behavior and psychology provide a basis for teachers to adjust teaching methods and select appropriate activities to maintain interest and minimize anxiety about learning a foreign language.
In addition, survey data can support schools and educational management agencies in developing programs, allocating time, and organizing extracurricular activities and Japanese language clubs to create a friendly learning environment and encourage more active student participation.
Furthermore, the research findings contribute to guiding the training and professional development of Japanese language teachers, helping to identify psychological factors affecting students so that timely adjustments can be made.
This thesis can also serve as a reference for further research on foreign language education at the secondary level, particularly in comparing the characteristics of learners across different languages, thereby improving the quality of foreign language teaching and learning in Vietnamese schools.
12. Future research directions:
Based on the results of the thesis "Japanese Language Education at the Junior High School Level - An Approach from the Behavioral and Psychological Perspective of Learners," the author may conduct more in-depth research in the future related to the design of Japanese language teaching in junior high schools, thereby measuring the effectiveness of solutions in practice more objectively and effectively.
