10. Summary of the thesis results:

This thesis is one of the first works to approach this topic.Song of Defending the NationFrom a pragmatic and implied meaning perspective, rather than approaching it poetics or theatricality as in previous studies, this research demonstrates that the theory of implied meaning (implied language) can be effectively applied to the analysis of Vietnamese folk art language, thereby expanding the scope of pragmatics' application to artistic texts. The thesis identifies and generalizes the mechanisms of implied meaning characteristic of Cheo theater, where language is closely linked to performance and folk material, supplementing mechanisms of implied meaning not addressed by traditional pragmatics. By combining semantic, pragmatic, and theatrical poetic analysis, the study clarifies the pragmatic transformation when dialogue is "activated" in the performance space, thus contributing to the development of implied meaning theory within the context of Vietnamese artistic language.

11. Practical applications:

The research findings can be applied in teaching pragmatics, literary linguistics, and performing arts studies, especially in the analysis of traditional theatrical dialogue. Furthermore, the thesis contributes to supporting Cheo artists in correctly understanding the implied meanings to enhance performance effectiveness and convey folk cultural values.

12. Future research directions:

Further research could be expanded in two directions: firstly, a comparative survey between the implied meanings in Cao Mat folk opera and other forms of folk drama such as Tuong and Cai Luong to understand the similarities and differences in pragmatic mechanisms; secondly, applying intertextual methods and Reception Theory.Reception theory) to analyze the multifaceted interpretation of implied meaning in the process of appreciating art. These open-ended approaches not only help to refine the understanding of implied language but also contribute to affirming the enduring value of national artistic thinking.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

Gmatics – Implicature, instead of the poetics or stage performance approaches seen in previous studies. The research demonstrates that the theory of implicature (Gricean implicature) can be effectively applied to analyze the artistic language of Vietnamese folk art, thereby expanding the scope of pragmatics application to artistic texts. The thesis has identified and generalized the characteristic mechanisms for creating implicatures inPaddletheatre, where language is associated with performance and folk materials, helping to supplement the implicature mechanisms not addressed by traditional pragmatics. By combining semantic-pragmatic-theatrical poetics analysis, the study clarifies the pragmatic shift when dialogue is "activated" in the performance space, thus contributing to the development of implicature theory in the context of Vietnamese artistic language.

12. Practical applicability:

The research results can be applied in teaching pragmatics, literary language, and performing arts research, especially in analyzing the dialogue of traditional theatre. Furthermore, the thesis also contributes to supportingPaddleartists in correctly understanding implicatures to enhance performance effectiveness and convey folk cultural values.

13. Further research directions:

Subsequent research can be expanded in two directions: first, a comparative survey between implicatures in Cao Mat'sPaddleand other forms of folk theater such asTraditional Vietnamese operaandCai Luongto explore the similarities and differences in pragmatic mechanisms; second, the application of intertextuality and Reception Theory to analyze the multi-dimensional interpretation of implicature in the process of artistic appreciation. These open directions will not only help to complete the understanding of implicative language but also contribute to affirming the enduring value of the national artistic mindset.
