Through research on this topic:A comparative study of the stepmother-stepchild motif in several Vietnamese and Japanese folk tales.The thesis has achieved the following results:
Identify the distinctive features of stories containing the stepmother-stepchild motif in some Vietnamese and Japanese fairy tales through the examination of narrative texts.
Identify the similarities and differences of the stepmother-stepchild motif in several Vietnamese and Japanese fairy tales, and the reciprocal influence between Vietnam, Japan, and other cultures regarding fairy tales containing this motif.
The reasons for these similarities and differences can be explained, such as issues related to the cultural context and cultural identity of the two countries; the concepts, philosophies, and dreams of the working people conveyed through stories containing the stepmother-stepchild motif.
