Summary of thesis results: - This thesis surveys the vocabulary provided in the Vietnamese language textbooks for foreigners (Levels A-B) currently used at the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. - We analyzed the surveyed linguistic data according to the lexical and grammatical characteristics of the vocabulary and analyzed the thematic provision of vocabulary in those textbooks. - From the survey of the vocabulary provided in the textbooks, we offer observations and assessments on the quantity, quality, and methods of vocabulary provision in those textbooks, and suggest some solutions and recommendations to contribute to the correction, consolidation, and supplementation of Vietnamese language textbooks in subsequent revisions and editions.
  12. Practical applications: This thesis analyzes and provides suggestions for compiling a unified Vietnamese language textbook for foreign learners.
  13. Further research directions: This thesis aims to investigate the provision of vocabulary in the entire Vietnamese language curriculum for foreigners. Furthermore, we also aim to find an objective basis for the criteria used to determine the standards set for learners after completing each level and across all levels.
