10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis reconstructs the transition from the cultural figure of the old urban area (the courtesan) to the non-cultural figure of the new urban area (the prostitute), as well as the development and continuity between the spoken-word singing genre and the poetic forms of the New Poetry movement. It examines the impact of Western culture on the life and society of urban Vietnamese people, and the strong development of individual self-identity in both genders. It reveals the progressive perspective of the poets of the New Poetry movement. The analysis examines the gradual inheritance and transformation aimed at restoring the purity of the courtesan character in the spoken-word singing art of the Vietnamese people.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
The thesis reconstitutes the shift process from the cultural character of the old urban (geisha) to non-cultural character of the new urban (courtesan) as well as the inheritable development between recitative and other poem verse in the New Poem Movement. The Vietnamese life, society and urban men were under the influence of Western culture. The thesis also stresses the strong growth of personal ego in both genders, the progressive view of the poets of the New Poem Movement. The thesis analyzes the inheritance and gradually changes to restore the purity of the geisha character in the national art of recitative.
