Summary of thesis results: Through the process of researching the theory and practice of stress in leukemia patients, we have drawn the following conclusions: Regarding theoretical research results: From researching, analyzing, and generalizing relevant documents, the thesis has presented a system of concepts for the topic: cancer, leukemia, stress, stress response of leukemia patients. The thesis affirms: "Stress is a collection of physiological and psychological reactions of the body when there are excessively strong impacts of factors appearing in the process of human activity." The thesis mainly studies stress from the perspective of the psychological reactions of humans to the impact of various factors in the process of activity. This thesis argues that leukemia not only causes physical damage but can also be a significant psychological shock for patients, potentially triggering many negative psychological reactions, with stress being one of the most common. Stress in leukemia patients refers to the physiological and psychological responses to learning of their leukemia diagnosis and the treatment process at the hospital. Stress in patients can also be related to factors such as gender, education level, age, disease stage, and treatment duration. Regarding the results of the practical study, it was found that 41.7% of leukemia patients experienced stress at varying levels, primarily moderate (46.7%). Stress responses in leukemia patients are quite complex, not simply stress, but also accompanied by anxiety and depression; some patients even experience stress, anxiety, and depression simultaneously. Notably, 9.7% of patients have suicidal thoughts, and some frequently engage in spiritual practices such as fortune telling, rituals, and averting misfortune during treatment to stabilize their mental state and hope for a longer life. Stress response in leukemia patients is not influenced by factors such as gender, age, education level, or treatment duration, but some specific manifestations of stress response in terms of emotions and behaviors are closely related to these factors (emotions: fear, irritability, anger, etc.; behaviors: smoking, drinking alcohol, spiritual activities such as worship, rituals, etc.). 11. Practical applications: It serves as a reference for scientific research on the psychology of cancer patients in general and leukemia patients in particular. It provides a practical scientific and practical basis for building professional and comprehensive healthcare services for patients. It serves as a scientific basis for promoting the establishment of a psychological support department for patients during treatment at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. It is a reference for treating physicians, nurses, caregivers, and patients' relatives during the treatment and care of patients. 12. Future Research Directions: In the future, we will continue our research in the following directions: Expanding the study to include a larger number of patients with different types of cancer treated at various hospitals (K Hospital, Bach Mai Hospital, etc.), comparing different types of cancer and patients in different hospitals. Expanding the study to include other psychological responses of cancer patients such as emotional disorders, anxiety, depression, etc. Expanding the study to include the relationship between patients' stress responses and personality traits. Conducting more in-depth research on stress responses using other tools to move towards researching psychological interventions to reduce stress in leukemia patients. 13. Published works related to the thesis: The current state of optimistic attitudes and factors influencing optimistic attitudes of leukemia patients in 2009. Survey of the characteristics of stress response in acute leukemia patients at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in 2012.
