Regarding the structural characteristics of idioms in both languages, they are composed of words and phrases. However, in Korean, idioms are polysyllabic words that account for a much larger number than in Vietnamese. In the light of pragmatics, idiom research also raises issues in the application to the process of translating languages in general and idioms in particular. Emphasizing the importance of grasping the cultural context and semantic characteristics of idioms to ensure accuracy and harmony between the original and the translation. This requires the translator to not only have linguistic competence but also have a deep understanding of the source and target cultures.
