ThesisThe intermingling of genres between short stories and memoirs in Khai Don's works. This study examines the intermingling of genres between short stories and memoirs, specifically focusing on the works of writer Khai Don. We have outlined and provided an objective perspective on the causes, manifestations, and significance of this intermingling in several of his works. The thesis is divided into three chapters. Chapter 1 establishes the practical and theoretical basis for the development, interaction, and blurring of the lines between short stories and memoirs, particularly within the context of contemporary literary creation. Simultaneously, we focus on clarifying Khai Don's viewpoints and literary career. Chapter 2 focuses on exploring and analyzing the manifestations of this intermingling in several specific works by Khai Don.Mekong – the drifting alluvial soil, in a masquerade festival, with a deep, icy bottom. This phenomenon reflects not only the artistic and thematic characteristics of the short stories and memoirs of writer Khai Don, but also contributes to affirming the reciprocal influence of creative thought, writing methods, reader preferences, etc., on the genre's appearance. Finally, in Chapter 3, the thesis suggests a direction for receiving short stories and memoirs in particular, and works belonging to other literary genres in general, in the context of the increasingly common phenomenon of genre overlap and blurring.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

The thesisThe Intersection of Genres between Fiction and Non-fiction in Khai Don's Worksinvestigates the genre interplay between fiction and non-fiction through the specific case of writer Khai Don's literary creations. Specifically, the research provides a comprehensive and objective analysis of the causes, manifestations, and significance of the genre intersection between fiction and non-fiction in several of Khai Don's works. The thesis is structured into three chapters. Chapter 1 establishes the theoretical and practical foundation for understanding the process of interaction and blurring between fiction and non-fiction, particularly within the context of contemporary literature. Additionally, the research delves into Khai Don's creative perspective and literary career, offering a detailed examination of her artistic orientation. Chapter 2 focuses on exploring and analyzing the manifestations of genre intersection in specific works by Khai Don, includingMekong – Drifting Alluvium(Mekong – Wandering Alluvium),During the carnival(In the Masquerade), andThe bottom of the ice is deep.(The Deep Bottom of the Water). This phenomenon not only reflects the distinctive artistic and thematic characteristics of Khai Don's narrative and non-fiction texts but also affirms the mutual influence between creative ideologies, writing methods, and readers' tastes on the genre's evolving form. Finally, Chapter 3 suggests directions for the reception of both fiction and non-fiction works, as well as other literary genres, in light of the increasingly prevalent phenomenon of genre intersection and blurring. The findings aim to contribute to a broader understanding of contemporary literary practices and the fluid boundaries between narrative forms.
