The temple also focuses on improving health, teaching the use of traditional medicine, and practicing qigong for those seeking rehabilitation. During the self-detoxification process, everyone self-restrains themselves, monitors each other's adherence to the rules set by the master, and provides massages and bathing for one another. With a developmental function, former members who had undergone rehabilitation at the temple are now active in clubs alongside nuns and volunteers, continuing their mission of saving lives by providing health and psychological counseling to people with HIV/AIDS and their families. They become active volunteers in peer support groups, helping those who come later to overcome addiction and find hope in life again.
