Summary of Thesis Results: (Summarize the thesis results, emphasizing new findings if any) Within the framework of a thesis topic, I applied my knowledge of the novel genre and literary history to study Le Luu's novels during the đổi mới (renovation) period. The results of my research are as follows: 1. Le Luu is one of the writers who made significant contributions to Vietnamese literature during the đổi mới period. In the historical and social context of Vietnam, which underwent many changes after the war, especially after the 6th National Party Congress (1986) with its policy of democratizing literature, Le Luu subtly and sensitively perceived the need to reflect reality in all its manifestations. 2. Le Luu began his literary career with short stories, but later achieved great success in the novel genre. Following the resounding success of "The Distant Past," Le Luu has published numerous works: "The Story of Cuoi Village," "Waves at the Bottom of the River," "Two Houses," etc. Most of Le Luu's works truthfully reflect the present, delving into human life with its multifaceted manifestations. In every aspect of depicting life, he strives to the utmost in reflecting the essence of events and people, viewing and evaluating them through a multi-dimensional lens, avoiding one-sidedness. 3. When discussing Le Luu's significant contributions to the reformed literature, we cannot fail to mention his novels during the reform period. Le Luu's novels during this period bear the hallmarks of traditional novels, while he also explores, innovates, and modernizes the novel in both content and form. 4. In recreating and expressing life and people in the new historical period, Le Luu desired nothing more than to use literature to purify reality and the dignity and morality of humanity. In his works, Le Luu always maintains an objective and multifaceted perspective on things, phenomena, and people. 5. Looking at the overall content and artistry of Le Luu's four novels from the đổi mới (renovation) period, we gain a comprehensive and holistic view of the reality, history, and people of an era—an era the author calls "a bygone era." Le Luu's writings have created a unique imprint, a distinct voice, and a unique style. It can be affirmed that Le Luu is one of the great writers of his time, alongside familiar names such as Nguyen Minh Chau, Ma Van Khang, Bao Ninh, Chu Lai, Nguyen Khac Truong, Ho Anh Thai…
