- Monday,This thesis analyzes and clarifies the content of ethical ideas in the I Ching; these are the ideas of "Unity of Heaven and Man," the Doctrine of the Mean, Benefit and Righteousness, and "Cultivating Both Internal and External Aspects."

To enhance understanding of the I Ching; to prevent its misuse for superstitious purposes; to promote research on ethical issues within the I Ching; and to provide a basis for understanding other philosophical ideas in the history of Chinese philosophy.
