On March 14, 2013, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had a meeting with the leaders of VNU about the school's activities and development orientations in the coming time. The meeting was chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Phung Xuan Nha (Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, President of VNU) and Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities).

The quality accreditation certificate (cycle II) for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was issued by the President of VNU on December 28, 2012, based on the proposal of the VNU Quality Accreditation Council. According to the accreditation results of the Council, the University met the national quality standards with a rate of 98.3% (60/61 criteria met). According to regulations, to meet this standard, the basic units need to have 80% of the criteria met.

On January 25, 2013, the Science and Training Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its 7th meeting chaired by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector, Chairman of the Council).

On January 8, 2012, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal of the School - signed Decision No. 28/XHNV-TC on the dismissal of Dr. Dang Thu Huong (Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication) from the position of Director of the Center for Journalism and Communication to focus on the management of the Faculty.

On August 30, 2012, the Director of Hanoi National University signed Decision No. 2880/QD-KHTC agreeing to allow the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to liquidate a 16-seat Toyota car with license plate 31A-4514.
