On June 14, 2012, the Policy Advisory Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its second meeting, chaired by Professor Phan Huy Le - President - and Vice Presidents: Professor Vu Duong Ninh and Associate Professor Pham Xuan Hang.

On June 10, 2012, the Scientific and Training Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the 2009-2014 term held its sixth meeting, chaired by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Chairman of the Council.

The Center for Journalism and Communication Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) is recruiting collaborators to handle enrollment for short-term skills training courses.

To consolidate the Faculty of International Studies' leadership, on March 8, 2012, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University – signed Decision No. 475/QD-XHNV-TC appointing Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Khac Nam – Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Studies – to the position of Dean of the Faculty of International Studies, continuing the term 2010-2015.

On the morning of March 7, 2012, the Department of Psychology held a ceremony to announce the appointment of the Dean and Vice-Deputy Deans of the Department of Psychology for the term 2011-2016.

On the morning of March 5, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities solemnly held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Director of Hanoi National University appointing Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh and Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa as Vice Rectors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On February 20, 2012, Professor Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - signed decisions No. 656/QD-TCCB and No. 657/QD-TCCB regarding the appointment of staff to the position of Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the continued term 2009 – 2014.

On the morning of February 7, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a conference of key officials to solicit confidence votes for the Vice Rector position for the 2011-2014 term. Based on the standards for leadership and management personnel and their capabilities, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors nominated two candidates: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Head of the Faculty of International Studies) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Head of the Faculty of Tourism Studies).

On January 4, 2012, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 22/QD-TTg appointing Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son as Vice Director of Hanoi National University. From January 9, 2012, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son transferred to work at Hanoi National University. While awaiting the completion and restructuring of the Board of Directors, the Rector of the University assigned specific tasks within the Board of Directors as follows:

According to the plan, the School was scheduled to award degrees for the Tourism Studies major on January 12, 2012; however, due to objective circumstances from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the School has temporarily postponed the awarding of degrees for this major.

The 20th anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Sociology was held solemnly on the morning of November 16th. Attending the ceremony were representatives from central government agencies and departments, professors, scientists, staff, and alumni from all generations of the Faculty of Sociology.
