University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

On the morning of November 15, 2011, the Sejong Korean Language Center in Hanoi – Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Hanoi – held its inauguration ceremony and received the appointment decision for its leadership personnel. Attending the ceremony were Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University, and Professor Chung Hae Lin – President of Pusan ​​University of Foreign Studies, South Korea.

On November 9th, the 2011 Finance Conference of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was held. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu – Vice Rector – chaired the conference. Attendees included representatives from the leadership and finance specialists from various units.

The Conference of Faculty and Staff Delegates for the 2011-2012 academic year of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was held on September 24th. Attending the conference were Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan – Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, representatives from functional departments and member units of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and over 200 faculty and staff members representing various units within the University.

On September 22, 2011, a delegation from the Office of Project 165 (Central Organizing Committee), led by Comrade Nguyen Van Quynh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Project 165, held a working session with the leaders of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to inspect and evaluate the joint Master's program in Science and Technology Management between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Lund University, Sweden.

On May 22nd, 2011, 2,754 voters from Constituency No. 10, Thanh Xuan Trung Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, will participate in elections for three levels: National Assembly representatives, Hanoi City People's Council representatives, and Thanh Xuan District People's Council representatives. The 3rd Conference of Young Staff of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities took place on May 14, 2011. Attendees included representatives from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the University's leadership, and nearly 200 young staff members from across the university. The conference focused on discussing issues related to the training and development of young staff: difficulties, advantages, and specific solutions.

To implement online student information registration and management, from April 29th to May 12th, 2011, all students throughout the university will register their information on the VNU electronic portal.

On April 25, 2011, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University - signed a decision appointing Dr. Tran Thu Huong (Deputy Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology) to the position of Deputy Head of the Faculty of Psychology, for a term concurrent with that of the Head of the Faculty.

On April 4, 2011, the school issued official document No. 635/XHNV-ĐT regarding holidays and make-up classes in the second semester of the 2010-2011 school year.

On March 28, 2011, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University – signed a decision to transfer and appoint Ms. Tran Diep Thanh, lecturer in the Faculty of International Studies, to the position of Deputy Head of the Department of External Relations and International Training Cooperation, for a term coinciding with the Rector's term.

On March 9, 2011, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University - signed a decision appointing Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, lecturer in the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, to the position of Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication for the term 2011-2016.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities announces the deadline for registration and submission of applications for recognition of Professor and Associate Professor titles in 2011 as follows:

Based on the results of the first consultative meeting of the Hanoi City Fatherland Front Committee held on February 24, 2011, and document No. 43/CV-HĐND dated March 1, 2011, from the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City People's Council regarding the approval of the proposed nomination of candidates for the Hanoi City People's Council for the 2011-2016 term, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is nominated to run for the City-level People's Council for the next term.
