11. Summarize the results of the thesis (provide a summary of the thesis results, emphasizing any new findings, if any).
This thesis studies the causes of anxiety disorders in high school students. Therefore, after the research process, we found that there are four main causes of anxiety disorders in students: causes related to academics, causes related to family, causes related to social relationships, and causes related to the student themselves.
Among these groups of causes, the group related to academics is the main cause of anxiety for students at Quang Binh Specialized High School. Studying puts immense pressure on them, especially academic results, which are a real source of worry, anxiety, and even obsession for the students, who are the subjects of this thesis.
When using psychological therapies to influence the children, especially through counseling skills, we found that their anxieties were relieved, they regained awareness, and they clearly identified their anxieties and how to overcome them.
The results of this study have contributed to providing relatively accurate data on the current state of school-related anxiety disorders (until now, there have been few studies on school-related anxiety disorders). In addition, the study's results also demonstrate the effectiveness of counseling for students with anxiety disorders.
12. Practical applications
- Regarding the study of the current situation: The thesis has presented the current situation of anxiety disorders based on the use of two anxiety scales, Zung and DASS 42. Thanks to the reliability of the scales, we can use them to study the current situation on a larger scale.
- Regarding how to support and help children with anxiety disorders in particular (and children with psychological difficulties in general): using psychological therapies and counseling skills to help them alleviate anxiety.
This is a strength of the thesis, which can be applied in practice on a wide scale and bring practical benefits to people's lives.
13. Future research directions
We will continue to research the reality of school-related anxiety disorders on a broader scale (in many provinces and cities nationwide), examine the causes of anxiety disorders in students, and will use school counseling methods to help students overcome their psychological difficulties.
