Saigontourist Hanoi Travel Company is officially managed and operated by Saigontourist Travel Service Company as a branch of the company. Although they are two independent companies, the training of tour guides is standardized in its implementation and deployment. Trainers from the parent company regularly organize training at the branches. Based on this, the study assesses the current state of applying the Vietnam Tourism Occupational Skills Standards (VTOS) in the training and operational activities of tour guides, and proposes solutions and recommendations to improve and enhance the quality of the company's tour guide workforce. 11. In addition to the educational knowledge from the colleges and the practical knowledge from liasoning with customers while working for the travel agencies, the tourist guides should be properly trained about the knowledge and skills of a professional tourist guide based on the Vocational Training Opportunites Schemes (VTOS) of Vietnam. Saigontourist Travel Tourist Co. (STS) are carrying out effectively the training courses for its tourist guides based on the VTOS not only in the main office but also in its branches, particularly the branch in Hanoi namely Saigontourist – Hanoi Travel Co. (STH). STH is officially taken up and managed by the STS and recently operated as a branch of STS. Training courses have been continuously implemented in the main office as well as in the branches. The trainer from the main office usually organizes the training courses in the branches. Consequently, the thesis focuses on assessing the application of VTOS of Vietnam in the training and the professional work of the tourist guides of Saigontourist – Hanoi Travel Co. in order to give the solutions and the recommendations to improve and upgrade the quality of tourist guides of the company. 11.
