The thesis focuses on collecting researched and archaeologically excavated documents in three citadels: Outer Citadel, Fire Hill and Inner Citadel, and Central Citadel's moat from 2007 to 2014. The main contents that the thesis will deeply address are:
- Citadel building techniques: Techniques for building the Outer Citadel, Middle Citadel, Inner Citadel, and Hoa Hoi mound. Identifying the layers of earth used to build the citadel during the time of An Duong Vuong - method of building the citadel: Digging trenches to get earth to build the citadel - techniques for reinforcing the ramparts: tamping, reinforcing with solid materials such as cobbles, gravel, natural stones, and broken tiles.
