10. Summary of the results of the thesis:
Family dysfunction is a new topic that has been studied and researched in Vietnam. Currently, there are very few research works or essays on this topic. Family dysfunction is expressed as a symptom of instability in the family, showing that the problem is the responsibility of all members and is not resolved satisfactorily, especially the role of the mother. The basis of this method is a system of family norms used as a yardstick to measure different levels of family pathology.
In the world, there are many schools of psychology that have mentioned this topic, the first pioneer was the school of psychoanalysis with the first phenomenon of the first family dysfunction being "incest", then later psychologists developed this topic with many manifestations such as loss of balance in the family triangle of parent-child relationship leading to mental disorders.
In this study, the author focuses on assessing and analyzing the psychological problems of a client who was born and raised in an environment with family dysfunction. The client shows signs of generalized anxiety disorder that affects other life activities such as eating, sleeping, especially poor academic performance, loss of motivation to study and life, and lack of interaction skills to establish and maintain relationships, etc.
The therapeutic techniques used belong to CBT therapy. The author wishes to support clients in acquiring the skills to control emotions, thoughts and behaviors, and at the same time build a stable psychological foundation to cope with life events.
11. Practical application:
The thesis is a process of completing a clinical case, from the beginning to the implementation of a priority output goal. The treatment plan is built to help the client have a sustainable psychological foundation, building some backup skills in each difficult situation.
The thesis's theory focuses on the topic of family dysfunction and generalized anxiety disorder. The research results will be the premise for the development of future research on family dysfunction in Vietnam.
