The topic of this thesis is "Phonetic characteristics of Quang Nam dialect through survey data in Hoi An area."
The thesis structure includes the following 3 chapters:
Chapter 1: Theoretical basis
Chapter 2: Some phonetic characteristics in Quang Nam dialect
Chapter 3: Quang Nam dialect and the formation of the national language
In Chapter 1, I write about the theoretical basis of phonology and phonetics related to the topic. In addition, I describe some information about Hoi An in terms of geography and history.
Chapter 2 is the main content of this topic. In chapter 2, I describe the phonetic characteristics of Quang Nam dialect in terms of initial consonant system, medial consonant, main consonant, final consonant and tone.
In Chapter 3, I examine the process of forming the Quoc Ngu script and the role of Quang Nam language in that process.
11. Practical application:
The Vietnamese dialect picture is extremely diverse and rich, so some dialects or local languages have not had enough specific surveys in terms of phonetics.
This topic can provide some recording materials and a systematic observation of the phonetic system to contribute to the study of Vietnamese dialects.
12. Further research directions:
During the survey, I found the characteristics of phonetic change. With the perspective of comparative - historical phonetics to describe its change process in the process of language contact between domestic and foreign countries, this is a further research direction.
