Overview of the Dong Lam archaeological site, which clearly states the geographical location, natural conditions and cultural history of the Hiep Hoa area, Bac Giang. From there, we can see the advantages and disadvantages of natural conditions for the formation of an ancient cultural space. At the same time, we can see the history of the land as well as cultural traditions, adding to the picture of ancient culture in the area. In addition, we also learn about the process of discovery and research, and systematize documents about Dong Lam from the past to the present.
The Dong Lam relic site in Huong Lam commune, Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province was discovered in 1968. The site was then excavated for the first time in 1968 by staff of the Institute of Archaeology in conjunction with the Bac Giang Museum and for the second time in 2002. The results of the two excavations showed that this was a residential site of ancient Vietnamese people along the banks of the Cau River. In terms of age and nature, archaeologists initially determined that the Dong Lam relic site dates back to the Bronze Age, the nature of this site has elements of the Dong Dau, Go Mun and Dong Son cultural types (Duong Co type), in which the Dong Dau and Go Mun layers are the most prominent. The thesis summarizes the main excavation and research results, especially the two excavations in 1968 and 2002. It clarifies the issues of stratigraphy, the system of relics and artifacts through the excavations in Dong Lam.
Dong Lam is an important archaeological site of the Bronze Age in Bac Giang. It plays an important role in understanding the Bronze Age in Bac Giang. The topic also clarifies the spatial and temporal relationship of the Dong Lam site with a number of other contemporary relics.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
The first is an overview of Dong Lam archaeological site, including geographic location, natural conditions and cultural history of Hiep Hoa District, Bac Giang province. This is base for us to understand the advantages and disadvantages of natural conditions for the formation of an ancient cultural space. It does not only show the history of the region but also cultural traditions that supplement to the ancient cultural picture of the area. In addition, the author also investigated and re-documented the process of discovering and researching of the Dong Lam site so far.
The Dong Lam site is located in Huong Lam commune, Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province. It was firstly discovered in 1968 and excavated twice in the same year and 2002 by the Institute of Archeology and Bac Giang Museum co-operations. The results of these excavations showed that it was a residence of ancient Vietnamese people on the Cau River's bank. Researching on date and property system, the archaeologists initially commented that the Dong Lam site belonged to the Metal Age with featured elements of Dong Dau, Go Mun and Dong Son (Duong Co type) cultures which Dong Dau and Go Mun layers are the most prominent. This thesis summarizes the results of excavations and research at the Dong Lam site, especially the ones in 1968 and 2002 to clarify the issues of stratigraphy, relics and found artifacts here.
Thus, Dong Lam site can be seen as an important archeological site of the Bac Giang province. It did not play an important role in understanding the Metal Age in Bac Giang but also clarified the relationship with other archaeological sites in the area.
