10. Summary of thesis results:
In addition to the theoretical part on foreign non-governmental organizations, the thesis focuses on assessing the important role of foreign non-governmental organizations in poverty reduction and sustainable development of localities in the Northwest region. The activities of foreign non-governmental organizations bring many benefits and positive changes to the lives of local people in the Northwest region, through the implementation of programs and projects to support livelihoods, education and health for the people. In addition, the projects have contributed to strengthening the capacity of partner agencies in the Northwest region and the people in the beneficiary areas.
From the effectiveness of programs and projects implemented by foreign non-governmental organizations, the thesis draws experiences to help policy makers have a more comprehensive view of poverty reduction; makes some recommendations to contribute to improving poverty reduction in the Northwest region, as well as suggestions to help foreign non-governmental organizations operate smoothly and effectively in poverty reduction in the Northwest region today.
11. Practical application:
The research results of the thesis can be applied to improve the effectiveness of poverty reduction in the Northwest region in the following years and can be applied to areas with a large population of ethnic minorities; as well as promote the attraction of foreign non-governmental aid to Vietnam.
12. Further research directions:
Within the framework of a master's thesis, the topic only focuses on a certain level of research. However, the topic can be the foundation for further research directions on poverty reduction in the Northwest region of Vietnam.

Apart from the theory about foreign non-governmental organizations, the thesis focuses on evaluating the important role of foreign non-governmental organizations in poverty reduction and sustainable development in northwestern localities. The activities of foreign non-governmental organizations bring about many benefits and positive changes in the lives of northwestern residents through the implementation of programs and projects giving livelihood support, education and healthcare. In addition, the projects contribute to strengthening the capacity of partners in the northwestern region and the beneficiaries.
From the effectiveness of programs and projects implemented by foreign non-governmental organizations, the thesis draws on experience that helps to have a broader view of poverty reduction; puts forth a number of recommendations on improving poverty reduction in the northwestern region as well as suggestions to help foreign non-governmental organizations work more effectively in poverty reduction in the region.
11. Practical applicability
The results of the thesis can be used to improve the efficiency of poverty reduction in the northwestern region in the coming years and can be applied in areas inhabited by a large number of ethnic minority people; and to attract more assistance from foreign non-governmental organizations to Vietnam.
