The thesis has outlined the conditions and most basic characteristics of European political culture with comprehensive information covering both Western and Eastern Europe, especially outlining the changes in the political culture of these countries during and after the socialist period. In an effort to provide a comprehensive overview of the political culture of this region and to explain its strong influence on other countries around the world, especially Vietnam, this thesis analyzes several characteristics of French and Soviet political culture, which are not only two prominent and distinct political cultural features worldwide but also contribute to the formation of modern and diverse Vietnamese political culture. Finally, the thesis provides a relatively complete overview of Vietnamese political culture from its inception to its various stages of development. Without employing enumeration or comparison, Chapter Three analyzes the impact of European political culture on Vietnamese political culture through an analysis of Vietnamese political culture itself as the primary subject.
