Based on the theory of journalism, the thesis has explained the rationality and inevitability in the formation of the column "Things to do immediately" in Nhan Dan newspaper. Based on the theoretical system of journalistic works and genres, the thesis focused on analyzing the content and form of 31 articles signed by NVL published in the column "Things to do immediately" of Nhan Dan newspaper from May 25, 1987 to September 28, 1990, thereby proving and clarifying the value and great contributions of the above articles in the process of socio-economic renovation and press renovation in the early stages of the renovation process. The thesis also analyzes commentary articles, evaluates the role of articles signed by NVL and surveys articles and columns in the form of "Responding to Things That Need to Be Done Immediately" in other newspapers such as Lao Dong, Nhan Dan, Quan Doi Nhan Dan, Sai Gon Giai Phong, Tien Phong and Tuoi Tre, thereby evaluating the social impacts as well as the press effects of the column. 12.
