10. Summary of thesis results:

Over the past years, under the impact of the urbanization process in the mountainous areas, the Red Dao people in Ta Phin commune (Sa Pa district, Lao Cai province) have undergone a turning point in their socio-economic transformation from a traditional self-sufficient, closed economy to a commodity economy dominated by market factors. The commodity economic activities of the Red Dao people in Ta Phin take place in the following aspects: commodity production, exchange and trade of goods, small business services and tourism services. The development of the commodity economy has had a comprehensive and profound impact on the economic, social and cultural life of the Red Dao community here. On the one hand, the development of the commodity economy has created conditions to improve the material and spiritual life of the people, bringing people closer to a modern lifestyle more quickly. On the other hand, the development of the commodity economy has also had many negative impacts on their traditional social and cultural life.

This thesis is the result of the research process on the commodity economic activities of the Red Dao people in Ta Phin commune. The thesis focuses on presenting the urbanization process in Sa Pa and its impact on the Red Dao community in Ta Phin. Presenting the economic transition process of the Dao people from a self-sufficient economy to a commodity economy. In particular, it analyzes the current commodity economic activities of the Dao people in Ta Phin and the factors affecting those activities. In addition, the thesis also analyzes the consequences of the development of the commodity economy on the Dao community in Ta Phin.

11. Practical application:

From the thesis, it is possible to research and build models for commodity economic development and human resource training in the research area.

Continued serious research, investigation and quantitative analysis may lead to a doctoral dissertation or research publication.

Over recent years, under the pressure of urbanization process in mountainous areas, the red Dao ethnic community has experienced a significant socio-econimic change which has turned the closed and self-sufficient economy into the market economy. The commercial economy activities of the red Dao ethinic conclude some main types such as good production, good exchange and provision of small and touring services. These changes have effected totally and seriously on cultural and socio-economic activities of the red Dao ethnic community. On the one hand, development of commercial economy has improved living conditions of people and helped them to access more easily with the modern lifestyle. On the other hand, the emergence of commercial economy has made some disadvantages for reserving their traditional practices.

This thesis is a result of research process about commercial economy activities of the red Dao ethnic community in Ta Phin commune, Sapa district, Lao Cai province. Thesis focus on the urbanization process and its effects on the life of involved communities. It analyzes the transformational process of the Dao ethnic from the self-sufficient economy to the commercial economy, especially their commercial economy activities and causing factors. Besides, the thesis also analyzes the consequences of commercial economic development of the Dao ethnic community in Ta Phin commune, Sapa district, Lao Cai province.

Thesis provides a scientific base to research and build forms of commercial economic development as well as to train human power at research local.

Continue to research at deeper level about the transformational process of commercial economy of the Red Dao ethnic in contemporary context.
