Chapter 1: Overview of technical standards, regulations and archiving
This chapter of the thesis provides an overview of some content related to technical standards, regulations, and archiving; and analyzes the role of technical standards and regulations in archiving work.
Chapter 2: Current Status of Developing Technical Standards and Regulations for the Vietnamese Archival Sector
Through practical work experience and field surveys, this thesis focuses on analyzing and evaluating the situation regarding the development of technical standards and regulations in archival work at the State Archives and Records Department over the past period. In addition, this chapter summarizes and compiles state regulations related to standardization activities in general and the development of technical standards and regulations in archival work in particular; it also introduces some international and foreign standards related to archival work.
Chapter 3: Some solutions to promote the development of technical standards and regulations for the Vietnamese Archival sector.
Chapter 3 of this thesis analyzes the advantages and challenges facing the development of technical standards and regulations in the Vietnamese archival sector; based on this analysis, it proposes solutions to promote this activity in the future.

- This serves as a basis for the State Archives and Records Administration to review and assess the situation regarding the development of standards in archival work over the past period, and to propose solutions to help the State Archives and Records Administration promote the development of technical standards and regulations in archival work in the future.

In this chapter, the thesis provides an overview on some issues relating to standards, technical regulations and archives; at the same time analyze the role of standards and technical regulations in archives.
Chapter 2: Situation of setting standards and technical regulations for archives in Vietnam
Through practical work and observation, the thesis focuses on analyzing and assessing the current situation of establishing standards, technical regulations in archives at the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam during previous time. In addition, the chapter also summarizes available state regulations regarding the activities of standardization in general and in setting up standards and technical regulations in archives in particular, at the same time introduce some international standards and standards of other countries in archives.
Chapter 3: Solution to enhance the establishment of standards and technical regulations in archives in Vietnam.
In chapter 3, the thesis analyzes advantages and challenges in setting up standards, technical regulations in archives in Vietnam, based on that proposes solutions to promote this activity in coming time.
