The thesis systematized and clarified concepts, especially some related to journalistic genres. Through surveying and analyzing the current state of social investigative reporting (93 social investigative reports published in Thanh Nien Newspaper from 2009 to the end of 2013), the thesis presented some lessons learned and proposed recommendations to improve the professional skills and working methods of investigative reporters.

The research findings of this thesis are valuable and have practical significance for journalists, especially those directly involved in investigative reporting. Furthermore, the research results are also relevant for researchers and lecturers in the field of journalism and media, as well as for managers of media organizations.

The thesis systematizes and brings out the meanings of concepts, especially some concepts of press genres. By making the survey and analyzing the data of 93 investigative and social reports on the Youth Newspaper from 2009 to 2013, the thesis shows us some findings and proposes some useful solutions in order to enhance the professional competences and skills of journalists in writing the investigative and social reports on newspaper.

The thesis results may be useful for journalists, especially for those who carry out the investigative and social reports. In addition, the thesis is practical for press researchers, teachers and management agencies.
