Furthermore, the thesis highlights China's strategic adjustments and calculations regarding South Korea through an analysis of the current state of its relationship with South Korea in specific periods from the official establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992 to 2015, across the fields of politics, economics, security and defense, and culture and society. From this, the thesis provides an assessment of the prospects and impacts of this relationship on each country, the East Asian region, and Vietnam. Simultaneously, it offers some predictions on future trends in Sino-Korean cooperation.

First of all, the thesis clarifies the factors affecting the relation between China and South Korea relying on the method of studying the analytical levels in international relations theory: from the global and regional level to the national level and individual level of leaders in each country. Thereby, it identifies and assesses China's strategic interests in developing the relationship with South Korea. Secondly, the thesis highlights the China's strategic adjustment and calculation applied to South Korea through the process of analyzing the current relations situation between China and South Korea in specific stages when these countries officially established the diplomatic relations from 1992 to 2015 in terms of politics, economics, national defense and security, and cultural society. From there, the thesis has made the assessment about the prospects and impacts of this relation to each country, East Asia and Vietnam. Additionally, it also gives some forecasts about the cooperative trend in the relationship between China and South Korea in the future.
