The innovation in the artistic conception of humanity has broken down the tradition of clear divisions of good – bad; noble – base…; the individual replaces the collective, viewed from many angles and dimensions. Characters in novels of the innovation period have distinct characteristics compared to the previous period: diverse and rich with many types of characters and personalities. This more clearly demonstrates the writers' keen ability to approach and exploit reality, while also seeing that life is always busy and complex. It reflects a holistic view of life through the pluralism of art. Novels of this period have developed several character types: alienated characters, repentant characters, confessional characters, lonely characters, and absurd characters. Through the appearance of these character types, we can draw some conclusions about the artistic innovation process of the novel. By studying the world of characters in Vietnamese novels during the đổi mới (renovation) period, we hope to identify the innovation in the world of characters in contemporary novels in particular and đổi mới literature in general. At the same time, we hope to see the fundamental transformations of contemporary Vietnamese prose and contribute to summarizing the achievements of đổi mới literature in general, and the novel genre in particular. 11. The characters in the novel era innovation have different characteristics than the previous period: diversified and rich style with lots of characters. This is shown more clearly keen ability to access and exploit the reality of the writers, to see real life is always chaos and complexity. It represents a view of life with integrity pluralism of art. Novels of this period have built a number of styles: the character alienation, the character of repentance, confession; lonely character, unreasonable character. Through the appearance of a character that we can make some conclusions about the process of artistic innovation of the novel. From the study of characters in the World Vietnam era novel innovation we hope to be able to recognize innovation in the world of the novel characters of contemporary literature in particular and reform in general.
