The main results of the study include: Firstly, the study analyzed Vietnamese language teaching textbooks for foreigners, clarifying the expression of historical and cultural vocabulary in terms of form, meaning and distribution by topic. The results show that Sino-Vietnamese words dominate (75.6%) in the textbooks, with vocabulary groups on folk art and national history as the core content, clearly showing the characteristics of Vietnamese historical and cultural culture. Secondly, the study proposes a historical and cross-cultural comparative teaching method, which emphasizes the construction of teaching materials and the design of task-based activities. This method helps Chinese students understand more deeply about Vietnamese historical and cultural culture through language, while enhancing their awareness of cultural differences and similarities. These results not only contribute theoretical value but also have important practical significance, contributing to promoting the teaching of cultural and historical vocabulary in Vietnamese, especially for Chinese learners.

This research has developed a comprehensive theoretical framework for cultural–historical vocabulary in Vietnamese textbooks for foreign learners, with a particular focus on its application to teaching Chinese students. The main findings include: First, the study analyzed Vietnamese textbooks for foreign learners, clarifying how cultural–historical vocabulary is presented in terms of form, meaning, and thematic distribution. The results show that Sino-Vietnamese words account for 75.6% of the vocabulary, with lexical groups related to folk art and national history forming the core content that clearly reflects Vietnam's cultural and historical characteristics. Second, the study proposes an intercultural comparative approach to teaching cultural–historical vocabulary, emphasizing the development of teaching materials and the design of task-based learning activities. This approach helps Chinese students gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam's cultural history through language, while enhancing their awareness of both cultural similarities and differences. These results contribute not only to theoretical understanding but also to practical significance, promoting the teaching of cultural–historical vocabulary in Vietnamese, particularly for Chinese learners.
