10. Summary of project results
The project "Solutions for improving human resource management of the Resident Reporters Management Board of Nhan Dan Newspaper in the new context" has highlighted the need for appropriate human resource development policies and mechanisms, especially in the current context of journalism being deeply affected by digital transformation, international integration, and the increasingly high demands for information quality, timeliness, accuracy, and creativity in journalistic products.
The survey results show that, although the Resident Correspondent Management Board has implemented several measures to manage and support resident correspondents, significant limitations still exist, such as suboptimal personnel structure, inconsistent mechanisms for evaluating competence and work efficiency, and training, professional development, and career advancement policies that do not truly meet the needs for improving the quality of human resources. Furthermore, the use of information technology in managing tasks and records of resident correspondents has not been effectively utilized, leading to a lack of transparency in monitoring work progress and failing to truly encourage creativity and innovation in journalistic activities.
Based on an analysis of the current situation, the project proposed specific solutions regarding organizational structure, assignment and coordination of reporters; improving the mechanism for evaluating work performance and individual capabilities; implementing training and development programs to enhance professional competence, technical skills, and soft skills; improving incentive policies, encouraging creativity, and fostering employee engagement; and applying information technology in managing records, tasks, and work results. In addition, the project also offered strategic recommendations for management, including improving policy mechanisms, enhancing management capacity, creating favorable conditions for innovation, and sustainably developing the journalistic workforce.
11. Practical applications
The system of solutions regarding organizational structure, work assignment and coordination, and individual performance evaluation can be implemented directly at the Resident Correspondent Management Board, helping to improve transparency, efficiency, and consistency in management, thereby creating a professional working environment, encouraging creativity, and enhancing the quality of work of resident correspondents.
Implementing solutions for training, professional development, and enhancing the expertise, skills, and soft skills of resident reporters will help managers and reporters quickly adapt to the new demands of modern journalism, especially in the context of digital transformation and international integration, while also improving their ability to respond flexibly to breaking news, diverse information, and the varied needs of readers.
Solutions involving improvements in compensation, rewards, incentives for creativity, and employee engagement can be directly applied to enhance the motivation of resident reporters, thereby reducing employee turnover, improving the quality of journalistic products, and ensuring stability in human resource management.
The application of information technology in managing the records, tasks, and work results of resident reporters is also a key highlight. It not only helps the Resident Reporter Management Board track work progress accurately and transparently, but also contributes to optimizing reporting, evaluation, and management decision-making processes, while facilitating data storage, retrieval, and aggregation for strategic human resource planning.
Furthermore, strategic recommendations for management, including improving policy mechanisms, enhancing management capacity, facilitating innovation, and developing long-term human resources, can be applied to formulate comprehensive human resource management policies, helping media organizations improve their competitiveness and adapt to the global media landscape.
12. Future research directions
Firstly, further research is needed on the relationship between human resource management and journalistic performance in the context of digital transformation, particularly the factors affecting the creativity, productivity, and information quality of resident reporters. This research aims to develop human resource management models that adapt to new technological trends, including artificial intelligence, big data, and multimedia platforms.
Secondly, in-depth research is needed on the motivations, needs, and engagement of resident reporters, including analysis of professional psychology, job satisfaction, and reward and compensation mechanisms, in order to develop comprehensive human resource policies that can encourage creativity, enhance individual capabilities, and foster long-term commitment to the media organization.
Thirdly, research needs to be expanded on training, development, and capacity building models for resident reporters, especially programs focusing on soft skills, information technology skills, information management skills, and multimedia communication skills, in order to meet the increasingly high demands for timeliness, accuracy, and attractiveness of journalistic products.
Fourth, research on tools and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of resident correspondent work is also an important direction, aiming to build an evaluation system that is accurate, fair, and transparent, contributing to improving the quality of human resource management and management decision-making capabilities.
Fifth, it is necessary to study comprehensive human resource management models that combine policy mechanisms, organization, and information technology to develop synchronized solutions that help media agencies both develop their human resources and optimize management efficiency, meeting the requirements of integration, competition, and digital transformation.
Furthermore, further research could expand the scope to compare human resource management between domestic and international media organizations, aiming to learn from advanced models and propose improvements tailored to the specific characteristics of Vietnamese journalism. Simultaneously, studying the impact of organizational culture, work environment, and government policies on human resource management in journalism will provide crucial information for refining human resource management solutions at the Resident Correspondent Management Board in particular, and media organizations in general.

11. Summary of the findings of the project:The thesis entitled "Solutions to Improve Human Resource Management at the Resident Correspondents Office of Nhan Dan Newspaper in the New Context" emphasizes the urgent need for appropriate policies and mechanisms to develop human resources. This need is particularly critical given the profound impact of digital transformation, international integration, and rising demands for information quality, timeliness, accuracy, and creativity in journalistic products.
Survey findings reveal that although the Resident Correspondents Office has implemented several measures to manage and support its resident correspondents, significant limitations remain. These include a suboptimal personnel structure, inconsistent performance evaluation mechanisms, and professional development policies that fall short of meeting the demands for high-quality human capital. Additionally, the application of information technology in managing tasks and reporter profiles is still underutilized, resulting in a lack of transparency in tracking progress and insufficient incentives for creativity and innovation in professional activities.
Drawing from an in-depth analysis of the current situation, the thesis proposes targeted solutions including: optimizing organizational structure and staff allocation; improving performance evaluation systems; implementing professional training programs to enhance technical expertise, operational skills, and soft skills; reforming incentive policies to foster innovation and strengthen staff engagement; and applying digital tools in task and performance management. Moreover, the thesis puts forward strategic recommendations for leadership, such as refining policy frameworks, strengthening managerial capacity, and creating enabling conditions for innovation and the sustainable development of journalistic human resources.
12. Practical applicability, if any:The proposed solutions regarding organizational structure, task assignment, coordination, and individual performance evaluation can be directly implemented at the Resident Correspondents Office. These measures aim to enhance transparency, efficiency, and consistency in management practices, thereby fostering a professional work environment that encourages innovation and improves the overall quality of resident correspondents' work.
Implementing training and capacity-building solutions—focused on developing professional expertise, operational skills, and soft skills—will enable both managers and correspondents to quickly adapt to the evolving demands of modern journalism. This is particularly important in the context of digital transformation and international integration, helping the workforce respond more flexibly to breaking news, multidimensional information, and the increasingly diverse needs of readers.
Improvements to remuneration policies, incentive schemes, and personnel engagement strategies can be directly applied to boost motivation among resident correspondents. These efforts are expected to reduce staff turnover, enhance the quality of journalistic content, and ensure greater stability in human resource management.
The application of information technology in managing personnel files, assignments, and work outcomes is another key area of focus. Leveraging digital tools will not only enable accurate and transparent tracking of work progress, but also help optimize processes related to reporting, evaluation, and decision-making. Furthermore, it will facilitate data storage, retrieval, and aggregation for strategic human resource planning.
Finally, the thesis outlines several strategic-level recommendations for senior management, including the refinement of policy frameworks, enhancement of leadership capacity, and the creation of enabling conditions for innovation and long-term human resource development. These recommendations can inform the development of comprehensive HR management policies, helping news organizations improve their competitiveness and adaptability in an increasingly globalized media landscape.
13. Further research directions, if any: First, further research should explore the relationship between human resource management and journalistic performance in the context of digital transformation. Particular attention should be paid to factors affecting creativity, operational productivity, and the quality of information produced by resident correspondents. This will support the development of adaptive HR management models aligned with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and multimedia platforms.
Second, in-depth studies on the motivation, needs, and engagement of resident correspondents are essential. These should include analyzes of professional psychology, job satisfaction, reward systems, and compensation policies. Such research would inform the design of comprehensive HR policies that foster innovation, strengthen individual competencies, and promote long-term commitment within news organizations.
Third, expanded research into training models and professional development pathways for resident correspondents is needed—particularly programs focused on soft skills, information technology, data management, and multimedia communication. These are critical to meet the growing demand for timely, accurate, and engaging journalistic content.
Fourth, the development and refinement of tools and methodologies for assessing the performance of resident correspondents should also be prioritized. Establishing a performance evaluation system that is fair, transparent, and reliable would contribute significantly to enhancing HR management quality and strengthening decision-making processes.
Fifth, future studies should examine comprehensive human resource management models that integrate policy frameworks, organizational structure, and information technology. The goal is to develop cohesive, scalable solutions that enable news organizations to simultaneously cultivate their workforce and optimize management efficiency in response to increase demands for integration, competition, and digital transformation.
In addition, future research could broaden its scope to include comparative studies of human resource management practices across domestic and international news organizations. Insights from advanced models can help propose contextually appropriate improvements tailored to the unique characteristics of Vietnamese journalism. Moreover, investigations into the influence of organizational culture, workplace environment, and government policies on journalistic human resource management could provide valuable guidance for enhancing HR strategies—not only at the Resident Correspondents Office, but across the journalism sector as a whole.
