The Party Cell of the Department of Religious Studies is a party organization directly under the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. It was established along with the Department of Religious Studies (which was separated from the Faculty of Philosophy at the end of 2016). With the orientation of "Organizational stability - Solid development," during the 2017-2020 term, the Party Cell led the Department of Religious Studies to successfully complete its tasks, gradually affirming the position of a relatively new field of study – Religious Studies – and making a significant contribution to the contributions of the Party Committee and the University to society.

Organizational stability and development

At the beginning of the 2017-2020 term (when it was first established), the Party Branch had 4 members out of 6 staff and lecturers of the Department of Religious Studies; currently, the total number of Party members in the Party Branch is 12 comrades out of 14 staff and lecturers of the Department of Religious Studies (including 3 probationary Party members who were admitted from among outstanding students).

In organizational development and activities, the Party Branch consistently implements proactive measures to build a clean and strong Party Branch according to the criteria set by the School Party Committee and the Party Committee of Hanoi National University; regularly focuses on improving the quality of ideological and political work; ensures the principle of democratic centralism, and strongly engages in criticism and self-criticism against manifestations of ideological and ideological degradation, factionalism, parochialism, opportunism, etc.; promptly prevents manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party Branch and negative impacts from outside. At the same time, the Party Branch effectively implements major campaigns and emulation movements launched by the Party Committee and the School, adhering to the motto..."Every teacher who is a Party member is a role model of morality, self-study, and creativity.".

The Head of Department has led the Department in ensuring both organizational stability and development, while improving management and operational methods towards an advanced university model; gradually improving facilities to serve training, scientific research, and international cooperation. Currently, the Department's organizational structure includes: the Department Head Board, the Department's Scientific Council, 3 specialized teams, 1 office, and 1 documentation room.

The Party cell focused on leading and directing the building of a strong organization and effective operation of the Trade Union and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; training, educating, and providing truly outstanding union and association members for the Party cell to admit into the Party. During the term from 2017-2020, the Party cell admitted 3 new Party members (1 Party member is a postgraduate student, 2 Party members are undergraduates).

Every year, the Party Branch seriously implements the evaluation and classification of Party organizations and the analysis of Party member quality according to the Party's regulations. All Party members in the Branch strictly adhere to the Politburo's regulations on the 19 things Party members are not allowed to do.

Rapid, sustainable development that meets societal demands in training and scientific research.

The Party cell has led the Department in carrying out its training and scientific research tasks with the motto: Theory is linked to practice, and development is oriented towards interdisciplinary fields.

Regarding training, the Department of Religious Studies annually enrolls and trains students in three programs: Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees. Notably, the training programs include international students (Lao students) studying in two programs: Master's and Bachelor's degrees. Along with the regular Bachelor's degree programs, the Department also enrolls students in part-time programs in four provinces and cities with a very specific target group: religious dignitaries and followers, some holding high ranks within their respective religious organizations (Venerable Monks, Senior Monks, etc.), and officials working in local political institutions. Both the regular and part-time training programs emphasize the need for theory to be closely linked to practice. Therefore, graduates who are officials of various agencies and organizations possess the necessary skills to perform their assigned duties. For students and researchers in biology, as well as religious clergy, they are equipped with knowledge of the viewpoints, policies, and laws of the Party and the State; and knowledge in many areas of social life related to beliefs and religions to implement the motto "Good life, beautiful faith," contributing to promoting the role and responsibility of religion towards society.

During the past term, the Department organized many valuable academic seminars and workshops, such as collaborating with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to organize scientific conferences. The current state of Buddhist social charity work in Vietnam.in Kien Giang province andEnhancing the role of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee in the new situation. In Khanh Hoa province, in collaboration with the Institute for Human Potential Research, a workshop was organized. The Role of Vietnamese Beliefs in Contemporary Social Life - Theory and ApplicationAt the School; in collaboration with the Khmer Theravada Buddhist Academy, a seminar was organized.Training and developing talent and human resources for the Khmer ethnic minority in Southern Vietnam: Tasks and solutions.in Can Tho city.

To achieve this success, the Party Cell of the Department of Religious Studies has always received close and direct leadership and guidance from the Party Committee and the School's Board of Directors; and timely and close cooperation from functional departments and teachers inside and outside the School.

Building on the achievements of the 2017-2020 term, the Party Branch of the Department of Religious Studies has set the action slogan for the 2020-2022 term as follows:Stability - Unity - Innovation - Sustainable Development, further affirming the position of the field of study and actively contributing to the overall achievements of the Party Committee and the School in the new term.
