Party Branch Congress of the Faculty of Management Science: Leveraging internal strengths - Connecting with external forces - Achieving breakthrough development

On May 11, 2020, the Party Branch of the Faculty of Management Science successfully held its 10th Party Branch Congress for the 2020-2022 term.

The Presidium, consisting of Comrade Tran Van Hai and Comrade Dao Thanh Truong, presided over the Congress.

Attending the Congress were Comrade Nguyen Van Kim - Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Comrade Vu Van Quan - Standing Committee Member, Head of the Professional Department of the Party Committee; Comrade Dang Thi Thu Huong - Standing Committee Member, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee; representatives from the Party Committee Office and 21 Party members of the Management Science Faculty Party Branch.

In the context of Vietnam's increasingly deep international integration and under the strong impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), the political, ideological, and professional tasks placed on the Party members of the Branch are numerous, responsibilities, and a large workload. In this context, the Congress assessed that the Branch has excellently fulfilled the goals and tasks set forth in the Branch Congress Resolution for the 2017-2020 term, demonstrating a high spirit of unity and consensus among all Party members.

The Party Congress of the Faculty of Management Science emphasized and affirmed the political fortitude and maturity of the Party Branch, the Faculty, and the Institute during the 2017-2020 term. This was a special political event, an opportunity for the Party Branch to frankly acknowledge and evaluate the achievements and strengths attained, the shortcomings that still exist, the advantages and difficulties, the opportunities and challenges, and to draw lessons learned in order to propose directions, tasks, and solutions to lead the unit to successfully complete its tasks in the 2020-2022 term and in the subsequent period.

Based on the results achieved, with the philosophy of "Leveraging internal strengths - Connecting with external forces - Achieving breakthrough development"The Congress adopted the general direction and objectives for the 2020-2022 term as follows: The Party cell will continue to comprehensively lead the Faculty, Institute, and affiliated organizations to successfully implement all targets and tasks aimed at improving the quality of training and scientific research to meet social needs and international integration; expand cooperation to develop and enhance the position of the Faculty and Institute; diversify financial resources, continue to modernize facilities and equipment; apply advanced university management methods, strengthen discipline and academic and workplace culture; continue the work of building and rectifying the Party, enhancing the pioneering and exemplary role of Party members, building a strong Party cell, and promoting the comprehensive leadership role of the Party cell; continue to innovate methods of operation and promote the role of affiliated organizations in building and developing the Faculty and Institute."

The congress held serious and lively discussions on the congress documents.

Contributing to the Party Branch's Political Report, Party members attending the congress offered numerous discussions and suggestions on how to foster unity within the unit; opportunities and challenges regarding university autonomy, human resource training, student recruitment, financial mechanisms for external lecturers, and continuing to maintain the high-quality Bachelor's program in Management Science…

In addition to providing feedback on the Party Branch's Political Report, delegates also contributed many ideas to the Draft Political Report of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities at the 28th Congress, term 2020-2025.

Comrade Nguyen Van Kim - Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a speech at the Congress.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Van Kim, Secretary of the School's Party Committee, highly appreciated the Party Branch's pioneering spirit in training high-quality human resources for society. The Secretary directed the Party Branch to carry out the following tasks: complete new training programs ensuring high interdisciplinary relevance from bachelor's to master's and doctoral levels; promote the role of strong research groups, implement research projects and strengthen policy advisory activities for the School; and standardize staff participating in high-level training programs.

In a spirit of democracy, focus, and responsibility, the Congress elected the Party Committee for the 2020-2022 term, consisting of 5 members who meet the criteria in terms of character, leadership capacity, and are exemplary party members in the Party Branch. The Congress also elected the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch with the following results: Comrade Dao Thanh Truong - Secretary of the Party Branch; Comrade Nguyen Manh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch; Comrade Vu Thi Cam Thanh - Party Committee Member; Comrade Hoang Lan Phuong - Party Committee Member; Comrade Nguyen Quynh Anh - Party Committee Member. The Congress also elected party members to attend the Party Congress of the University.

Comrade Tran Van Hai congratulated the Party Committee for the 2020-2022 term.

At the closing of the Congress, the newly elected Party Committee affirmed its determination to inherit the traditions and promote the spirit of unity and creativity of the Party Branch, successfully fulfilling the Resolution of the Congress for the 2020-2022 term.
