The Party cell of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work has 18 members (13 full members and 5 probationary members who are students). Of the 13 full members, 2 are temporarily transferring their party membership to pursue further studies and research starting in September 2024, 2 are students, and 11 are staff members.
During the 2022-2025 term, the Party Committee adjusted and reorganized the unit's organizational structure to suit the trends and meet the development requirements of the University in line with the orientation of a research and innovation university; adjusted postgraduate training programs according to output standards; and achieved good results in accreditation: the Bachelor of Sociology program achieved AUN-QA standards for the second cycle. In addition, scientific research has made significant breakthroughs: Faculty members are currently the principal investigators, secretaries, and key members of many science and technology projects at various levels. During the past term, 3 faculty members led national-level projects, 8 faculty members are currently leading national-level projects (4 of which have been successfully defended); 7 faculty members are leading projects at the institutional level; the Faculty has chaired and co-organized many prestigious national and international conferences. Faculty members have published nearly 100 articles in international scientific journals and conference proceedings; more than 120 articles in domestic scientific journals and conferences; student research has steadily increased each year (an average of 50 reports per year).
Comrade Hoang Thu Huong - Secretary of the Party Branch - presented the Report evaluating the leadership work of the Party Branch in implementing the Resolution of the Party Branch Congress for the 2022-2025 term and the Report on the self-assessment of the Party Committee.
Comrade Dang Kim Khanh Ly – Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch – presented a summary report of opinions on the draft documents submitted to the Congress and the documents of the higher-level Party Committee Congress.
The Congress defined the direction and tasks for the 2025-2027 term, emphasizing several major orientations: Promoting the comprehensive leadership role of the Party, strengthening the development of high-quality human resources within the Faculty; enhancing the application of information technology in education, developing training programs linked to labor market needs and new trends such as developing creative human resources, entrepreneurship, and adaptability to the continuous changes in society, while simultaneously improving the quality of scientific research and international integration.
At the congress, the Party members of the Branch expressed their strong agreement with the content of the Political Report of the University Party Committee and the documents of the Branch Congress. They also proposed solutions to contribute to achieving the targets of the next term, enhancing the Faculty's position within the industry, contributing to the development of the Faculty and the two training programs, contributing to the development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and contributing to the training of high-quality human resources in sociology and social work to serve the development of the country.



The party members attending the Congress also unanimously adopted a Resolution with very specific targets: during the 2025-2027 term, one staff member will achieve the rank of Professor and three staff members will achieve the rank of Associate Professor/Doctor, two staff members will complete their doctoral degrees during the 2025-2027 term, and three lecturers will be recruited from outside; 100% of lecturers will meet the targets for publishing textbooks and lecture materials; 100% of staff members will actively participate in international and domestic cooperation linked to professional development, and develop and maintain the Sociology and Social Work disciplines to meet domestic and international accreditation standards.
Speaking at the Congress, on behalf of the Party Committee and the School's Board of Directors, Comrade Dang Thi Thu Huong – Member of the Party Committee Executive Board, Vice Rector of the School – acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Sociology Faculty Party Branch in the past term. In the coming term, the School's Party Committee believes that under the guidance of the Party Branch, the Sociology Faculty will maximize the strengths of its high-quality human resources, improve the quality of its training programs, diversify training methods, and expand international cooperation in training and scientific research, closely linked to publications.
Comrade Dang Thi Thu Huong delivered a speech at the Congress of the Party Branch of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work.
The delegates attending the congress cast secret ballots and unanimously elected the Party Committee for the 2025-2027 term; elected delegates to the University Party Congress; and adopted the Congress Resolution.
Accordingly, the Party Committee of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work for the term 2025-2027 includes: Comrade Dang Kim Khanh Ly as Secretary, Comrade Hoang Thu Huong as Deputy Secretary; and Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Nhung as a Party Committee member.
The delegates unanimously adopted the Congress Resolution.
