According to the Report on the Implementation of the Resolution of the Party Branch Congress for the 2022-2025 term, presented at the Congress, the Party Branch of the Faculty of Oriental Studies has achieved several outstanding accomplishments and strengths. The Party Branch ensured that 100% of its cadres and Party members fully and seriously participated in all political study and training sessions convened by higher levels; and ensured stability and unity within the unit.
During the 2022-2025 term, the Party Branch ensured an increase in the number of lecturers for the departments. The Faculty recruited 9 new lecturers; 1 staff member defended their doctoral thesis; and 100% of the faculty members participated in teaching and research for the full number of hours as prescribed. The Party Branch of the Faculty of Oriental Studies consistently achieved the title of "Clean and Strong Party Branch," and 100% of its members achieved the title of "Qualified Party Member, Successfully Completing Tasks."
In its training activities, the Faculty has successfully developed master's and doctoral programs in Japanese Studies; registering 5-7 textbooks and lectures per year.
Faculty members in the department consistently achieve or exceed research targets annually, with many publications in prestigious international journals or publications from top universities recognized worldwide.
External cooperation and training support activities have expanded to include Chinese Studies, Indian Studies, Southeast Asian Studies, and Thai Studies; new cooperation programs have been opened with universities, organizations, and agencies abroad that have a prominent position in the region.
The report also highlighted the limitations, shortcomings, causes, and lessons learned in the Party Branch's performance of its duties during the past term.
Comrade Le Thi Thu Giang - Secretary of the Party Branch - presented the Report evaluating the leadership work of the Party Branch in implementing the Resolution of the Party Branch Congress for the 2022-2025 term and the Self-Assessment Report of the Party Branch Committee.
The Congress discussed and agreed on the direction, tasks, main targets, and key priorities for the 2025-2027 term. The direction for the new term is to strengthen the leadership role of the Party Branch, promote the qualitative development of the Faculty towards becoming a leading regional training and research unit, enhance the professional capacity of lecturers, affirm its position domestically and internationally, and contribute to the overall development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The Faculty aims to standardize its staff by adding 1-2 faculty members with doctoral degrees; creating conditions for the development of faculty members to gradually approach the requirements for professor and associate professor titles. It ensures 100% of faculty members participate in teaching and research for the full number of hours as prescribed. The goal is for each lecturer to have scientific research projects that meet or exceed the prescribed quota annually, with many international publications in reputable journals or publications from top universities recognized worldwide. The Faculty aims for approximately 4-5 international publications per year. The Faculty will continue to supplement and improve the system of lectures and textbooks to serve training, with faculty members publishing 2-3 textbooks and lectures annually. The Faculty also strives to implement 2-3 international cooperation projects in training and scientific research.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Secretary of the Party branch - presented a summary of opinions on the draft documents submitted to the Congress and the documents of the Party Congress of the School for the 2025-2030 term.
Comrade Luu Tuan Anh participated in discussions and contributed opinions to the documents of the Congress.
The Congress listened to the Party Committee's self-assessment report; the summary report of opinions on the draft documents submitted to the Congress and the documents of the University Party Committee Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Delegates attending the Congress discussed and contributed many opinions to the political reports; cast secret ballots and unanimously elected the Party Committee for the 2025-2027 term; elected 8 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to the University Party Committee Congress; and adopted the Congress Resolution.
Accordingly, the Party Committee of the Faculty of Oriental Studies for the term 2025-2027 includes: Comrade Le Thi Thu Giang as Secretary of the Party Committee, Comrade Pham Hoang Hung as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong as a member of the Party Committee.
The Party Committee of the Faculty of Oriental Studies for the term 2025-2027 was introduced at the Congress.
In his keynote address at the Congress, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the University Council, and Head of the Training Department - emphasized that, as a leading unit in the university's training programs with its own unique characteristics, the Faculty of Oriental Studies has affirmed its position and development over the past 30 years. The Faculty's human resources have developed strongly, and it has expanded its cooperative relationships with domestic and international partners.
However, in the new context of numerous challenges, the Party Branch needs to define specific goals and tasks, and leverage the Faculty's potential to meet new requirements. These include the context of university autonomy and fierce competition in the education sector, as well as the demand for internationalization of training and scientific research activities. The Party Branch needs to invest in cultivating high-quality human resources and increasing the competitiveness of its training programs.

During the 2025-2027 term, the Party Branch of the Faculty of Oriental Studies is determined to achieve the set goals and tasks, build a strong and thriving Faculty, and affirm its position in the Vietnamese and international higher education systems. The Congress entrusts the Party Committee for the 2025-2027 term, based on the discussion results and contributions of Party members, to finalize the official documents of the Congress.
The delegates unanimously agreed on the election of the Party Committee and the adoption of the Congress Resolution.
