On February 20, 2012, Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Director of VNU - signed decisions No. 656/QD-TCCB and No. 657/QD-TCCB on appointing staff to the position of Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the 2009-2014 term.

On the morning of February 7, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a conference of key staff to seek their opinions on the Vice President position for the 2011-2014 term. Based on the standards of management and leadership staff and staff capacity, the Party Committee Standing Committee - Board of Directors introduced two personnel: Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Head of the Faculty of International Studies) and Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Head of the Faculty of Tourism Studies).

On January 4, 2012, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 22/QD-TTg appointing Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Son to the position of Vice President of Hanoi National University. From January 9, 2012, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Son was assigned to work at Hanoi National University.
