That was the message the school principal sent to all staff, employees, and students in the early days of the Lunar New Year 2024 (Year of the Dragon).
The spring of aspirations and accelerated development. In the festive atmosphere of welcoming the Year of the Dragon, representatives from the Board of Directors and leaders of functional departments of Hanoi National University extended their heartfelt wishes and expectations to the leadership, staff, and employees of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the first working day of the new year. Congratulating the achievements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Hai - Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, emphasized: “In recent years, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has achieved great success in all fields of training, research, policy consulting and science and technology transfer, contributing to the overall development of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has passed the stabilization phase and is expected to experience accelerated development in the new year 2024.”

At the moment of the New Year's Eve of the Year of the Dragon, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University - extended New Year greetings to all staff, employees, and students of the University, sharing: The Year of the Rabbit 2023 witnessed many positive results for the faculty and students of the University of Humanities: the organizational structure of the Party Committee - Board of Directors - University Council was strengthened and coordinated smoothly; the high-quality staff continued to be consolidated; the student body increased significantly and became increasingly dynamic (the number of international students and postgraduate students in the Faculty of Humanities is the largest in Vietnam National University, Hanoi). High-quality scientific products continued to increase; a culture of quality was instilled; community service expanded; international integration made breakthroughs; infrastructure was modernized; revenue sources were diversified; and the living standards of staff improved. An atmosphere of unity permeates… “It can be said that the steadfast adherence to the ‘academic scientific viewpoint’ and the ‘philosophy of liberal education’ has contributed to raising the social standing, cultivating professional reputation, expanding cooperative relationships, attracting high-quality human resources, and drawing outstanding students to the University,” emphasized Professor Hoang Anh Tuan.

The spring of unity, agreement, comradeship, and solidarity. On the first working day of the new year, the 6th day of the lunar calendar, under the gentle golden sunshine of spring, the campus of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was incredibly vibrant! More than 400 staff, lecturers, employees, and students of the university gathered for a warm and friendly spring gathering. Firm handshakes, radiant smiles, and warm, sincere wishes from the teachers and staff, combined with the green of young leaves and buds, and the red of blooming flowers, created a truly spring-like atmosphere! Sending New Year greetings to the faculty and staff, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University - urged: “In this new spring, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities must prioritize innovation: training must be interdisciplinary/transdisciplinary; accompanying students; science must aim for collective achievements; university governance must be improved; conduct must adhere to principles; humanities people must always act with sincerity; and international training must aim to provide students with a ‘passport’ to the world.” The year 2024, the Year of the Dragon, has been decided by the leadership and management team of the University as a pivotal year to realize the philosophy of "academic foundation - modernity as the trend". Striving to excellently complete the key targets and tasks of the year will simultaneously create momentum and strength for the University to move towards many important events in 2025: the 29th Party Congress, the 80th anniversary of the tradition and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
