After studying the advantages and disadvantages of ASEAN in the new context, specifically from 2020 to present, the students have completed the objectives and tasks of the project. A summary of some results is as follows:
- Chapter 1: Theoretical basis and overview of ASEAN development process
The author analyzed the theories of constructivism, regionalism and the application of these theories in the study of the impact of the new situational context on ASEAN.
- Chapter 2: Advantages and disadvantages of ASEAN in the new context
The author pointed out the advantages and difficulties of ASEAN from 2020 to present. These factors include fluctuations in the world situation and the movements of countries outside the region, as well as internal issues of ASEAN and its member countries.
- Chapter 3: Impact on Vietnam and some proposals on Vietnam's participation in ASEAN in the coming time
The author has assessed the impacts of the situational context, including both advantages and disadvantages of ASEAN, on the process of Vietnam joining ASEAN in both positive and negative directions; from there, he has made some recommendations for Vietnam to participate more effectively in ASEAN cooperation in the coming time.

Practical applicability: The research results can be used as reference materials for policy researchers and those involved in foreign affairs, especially in work related to ASEAN, through analyzing the impacts of the situational context on ASEAN's activities and Vietnam's participation to find appropriate ways to respond, contributing to enhancing the effectiveness of ASEAN's activities, as well as enhancing Vietnam's role in ASEAN.
13. Further research directions: In the coming time, the author will continue to study the process of ASEAN implementing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 as well as forecast the factors affecting ASEAN cooperation in the coming time.
