The current study indicates a relationship between gratitude and life satisfaction in adolescents, and the mediating role of emotional regulation. The study subjects included 300 middle and high school students in Hanoi. The results show a positive correlation between gratitude and life satisfaction. Furthermore, the mediating role of emotional regulation is demonstrated; specifically, negative thinking strategies play a mediating role in the relationship between gratitude and life satisfaction. Based on these research findings, the thesis proposes several recommendations to enhance gratitude and life satisfaction in adolescents, and to help them regulate their emotions appropriately for the formation and development of good character.
